Textbooks for Aviation Mechanic Training Updated by ASA

Aviation Supplies & Academics (ASA) released new editions of The Aviation Mechanic Series by Dale Crane to offer a current, comprehensive, and effective learning resource for aviation mechanic training. Featuring four textbooks: General, Airframe Structures, Airframe Systems, and Powerplant; this series has been an industry standard since it was originally written by Dale Crane in the 1990s. The new editions feature updated content reflecting new regulations and changes in aviation mechanic certification, as well as input from an experienced editorial team, including aviation mechanics, university professors, and pilots.

The Aviation Mechanic Series is designed for use in classrooms and for independent study, and features color figures, study questions with answer keys, and extensive glossaries and indexes. The content meets FAA aviation maintenance technician school curriculum requirements and prepares applicants for the FAA Knowledge Test.

General, covers advanced topics such as aircraft regulations, materials, servicing, and troubleshooting in addition to the tools, forms, publications, privileges, and limitations of aviation mechanics. Softcover, 8.25 x 10.75 inches, 742 pages, color throughout.

Airframe Structures, details the subjects associated with aircraft structures including aerodynamics and rotorcraft fundamentals, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, metallic and nonmetallic structures, flight controls, assembly and rigging, and aircraft landing gear systems. Softcover, 8.25 x 10.75 inches, 504 pages, color throughout.

Airframe Systems, covers the various systems involved with the airframe: electrical, fuel, cabin atmospheric control, aircraft instruments, communication and navigation, ice control and rain removal, fire protection, and potable water and waste systems, as well as aircraft inspections. Softcover, 8.25 x 10.75 inches, 480 pages, color throughout.

Powerplant, covers the technical maintenance of turbine and reciprocating engines, theory and construction of aircraft engines, aircraft powerplants, and powerplant auxiliary systems. Softcover, 8.25 x 10.75 inches, 736 pages, color throughout.
