The Capitol Announces January Movie Showings:

The Majestic, Ice Age, Frozen, You Only Live Twice,

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie

BURLINGTON, IOWA - The Capitol is proud to announce January's film schedule, including The Majestic, Ice Age, Frozen, You Only Live Twice, and Cowboy Bebop: The Movie.


Celebrating the opening weekend of Night Cap The Capitol's new listening lounge & bar serving craft cocktails and mocktails, is a FREE film showing of The Majestic (PG) at 7pm on Friday, January 12th, sponsored by Russ and Bev Fry.


On Saturday, January 13th at 12pm, kids activities will take place on the stage, followed by the animated film Ice Age (PG) at 1pm, available to the public for FREE by the PiECES Afterschool Program.


Coming Monday, January 15th, celebrate a FREE showing of the 2013 Disney animated hit, Frozen (PG) at 2pm, in sponsorship from the Burlington Public Library.


At 7pm on Friday, January 19th, James Bond returns to The Capitol with the classic 007 film, You Only Live Twice (PG), starring Sean Connery.


As part of the AX Cinema Nights series, the 2001 anime film Cowboy Bebop: The Movie (R) returns to theaters, airing Sunday, January 21st at 7pm (Subtitled), and again Monday, January 22nd at 7pm (English Dub) and concluding on Tuesday, January 23rd at 7pm (English Dub).


Movie tickets at The Capitol are $8 for adults / $6 for seniors, kids & students and are available for purchase at BurlingtonCapitolTheater.com & the box office.


The Capitol is a historic downtown Burlington venue, featuring a 367 seat auditorium and a concession stand with snacks including popcorn and candy as well as sodas, water and a range of wine and beer. Cash and credit cards are accepted at the concession stand.

About The Capitol

Located in the heart of downtown Burlington, the restored Capitol Theater recaptures an era when movies and live entertainment were enjoyed in beautiful and unique theaters.


This 1937 Art Deco jewel re-opened in 2012. The intimate 367-seat venue, along with its reception and gallery annex, hosts independent and classic films as well as local, regional, and national touring artists performing on a 1,500-square stage.


The Capitol is home to monthly films and concerts as well as host of the annual Snake Alley Festival of Film held each July, and Old Couch Music Fest, a free outdoor musical festival held each August.
