The Capitol Announces November Movie Showings:

The Wizard of Oz, Terrifier 2, Ghost in the Shell, Brave, The Princess Bride, 007 Thunderball, & more!

BURLINGTON, IOWA - The Capitol is proud to announce a packed November film schedule, including Terrifier 2, Ghost in the Shell, The Wizard of Oz, and the James Bond film Thunderball, along with several FREE admission films – Brave, The Princess Bride, Court Jester, and Ratatouille.

Happening on November 1st is a one night re-release of the horror film Terrifier 2 (Unrated / 18+) at 8pm, with an exclusive sneak peek of Terrifier 3.

As part of the AX Cinema Nights series, the 1995 classic Ghost in the Shell (Rated PG-13) returns to theaters, airing Wed, November 8th at 7pm (Subtitled), again Friday, November 10th at 7pm (Dubbed) and concluding on Sunday, November 12th at 1pm (Subtitled).

The timeless classic The Wizard of Oz (Rated G) will air on Friday, November 17th at 7pm, with dressed up characters from the film interacting with audience before the show, and the next 007 James Bond film Thunderball (Rated PG) airs on Saturday, November 18th at 8pm.

Sponsored by the Burlington Public Library's Vacation Through Time series, are 3 FREE admission films in November, including: Brave (Rated G) at 6pm Wednesday, November 1st, The Princess Bride (Rated PG) at 6pm on Thursday, November 2nd with Court Jester (Rated G) at 7:45pm also on the 2nd. Also available as a FREE showing in November is Ratatouille (Rated G) on Saturday November 11th at 1pm, sponsored by the PiECES After School Program of Burlington Community School District.

Movie tickets at The Capitol are $8 for adults / $6 for kids & students and are available for purchase at & the box office.

The Capitol is a historic downtown Burlington venue, featuring a 367 seat auditorium and a concession stand with snacks including popcorn and candy as well as sodas, water and a range of wine and beer. Cash and credit cards are accepted at the concession stand.

Located in the heart of downtown Burlington, the restored Capitol Theater recaptures an era when movies and live entertainment were enjoyed in beautiful and unique theaters.

This 1937 Art Deco jewel re-opened in 2012. The intimate 367-seat venue, along with its reception and gallery annex, hosts independent and classic films as well as local, regional, and national touring artists performing on a 1,500-square stage.

The Capitol is home to monthly films and concerts as well as host of the annual Snake Alley Festival of Film held each July, and Old Couch Music Fest, a free outdoor musical festival held each August.
