Confederate Monument Tour
Sunday, May 5, 2019
Starting location: Court Square
Time: 2 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Did you know that there are 376 confederate monuments in the state of Virginia alone?

This represents the largest number in the country. Of this number 75 sit in front of court houses. Join Dr. Andrea Douglas and Dr. Jalane Schmidt for a tour of the Confederate Statues in downtown Charlottesville to learn about these objects and the role they play in our local and national narrative.

The tour will begin in Court Square at 2 p.m., followed by a discussion in the McIntire Room at the Central Library downtown from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This event is part of the City of Charlottesville's Unity Days program.
