New York, New York -- U.S. Senate Republican and Conservative Party nominee Wendy Long today criticized her opponent, incumbent U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for his nonresponse to the controversy over the Obama-encouraged sale of approximately $25 billion in U.S. aircraft goods and services to Iran Air.
"Typical to form, Chuck Schumer is nowhere to be found on urgent matters affecting our national security, especially where it concerns Islamic terrorists. Taking his cues from Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, he appears to be fine with this sale, with which America would provide Iran with aircraft that will be used for military purposes, such as movement of troops, ammunition, and weapons.
"In other words, Chuck Schumer by his silence is facilitating a deal that is against American interests, which Republicans and even many Democrats are increasingly recognizing. It's ironic that for someone whose main goal always seems to be getting his face in front of cameras, he seems to hide and keep silent if there is anything really important requiring leadership. While Republicans in both houses of Congress, and even now prominent Democrats in the U.S. Senate, weigh in with their concerns, Schumer is nowhere to be found. He prefers to tackle the really tough aircraft issues such as complaining that we need more legroom between seats."
