New Jersey School Bus Contractors Association and State Transportation Supervisors Hold Successful Driver Safety Competition
June 24, 2024 – New Jersey School Bus Contractors Association and State Transportation Supervisors (STS) held a Driver Safety Competition on Saturday June 15th at the Warren County Technical School in Washington, NJ. Senator Doug Steinhardt kicked off the event.
This was the first combined effort by NJSBCA and STS to hold such an event.
Over 50 school bus drivers from both NJ school districts and independent school bus companies participated in the competition.
The three top scorers were recognized at an awards ceremony immediately following the event. They are:
- First place - James Zapata, Jackson Township Board of Education
- Second place - Richard Sadowski, Hopatcong Board of Education
- Third place – BobbieJo Vaughan, Krapf School Bus
According to Dan Jauch, President of NJSBCA, “with the success of our partnership with STS and of this event, we would hope to make this an annual event.”
