Sharps Collection Program Begins
The Calhoun County Solid Waste Program has recently installed sharps disposal drop-boxes to the Albion City Hall, the Regional Law Enforcement Center in Marshall, and the Toeller Building in Battle Creek.

Albion City Hall
112 W. Cass St.
Albion, MI 49224

Marshall Regional Law Enforcement Center
714 Old 27
Marshall, MI 49068

Toeller Building
190 E. Michigan Ave.
Battle Creek, MI 49014

These drop-boxes, funded through a FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board 2019 Tier IV grant, will increase sharps disposal access for Calhoun County residents by providing year-round collection of sharps. The drop-boxes are residential use only and require the sharps to be placed in a shatterproof container such as a small sharps collection container or a rigid plastic container with a tight lid. Containers will need to fit the opening provided through the drop-box lid. Disposal of loose sharps is not allowed.
Items accepted in drop-box:
  • Needles
  • Syringes
  • Lancets
  • Auto Injectors

Items not accepted in drop-box:
  • Loose sharps
  • Medications
  • Business Waste
  • Garbage
