The Calhoun County Unified Law Enforcement has received additional guidance on enforcement of the Governor’s executive order listing essential businesses under EO 2020-21. Based on this additional information and legal guidance from the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office, the County's Unified Law Enforcement has updated its enforcement process for violations of the essential business guidelines.

- Attempt to contact the business and provide support and education regarding the Governor’s order.
- If still not in compliance, law enforcement will issue a Cease and Desist Letter as a notice.
- Law enforcement will issue a citation for violation of MCL 10.33 and MCL 30.405(3) that a willful violation of Executive Order 2020-21 is a criminal misdemeanor punishable by 90 days in jail and/or a $500 fine.
