Prevent Child Abuse Arizona Joins Prevent Child Abuse America
in Celebrating 50 Years of Progress
We are excited to join our parent organization, Prevent Child Abuse America, in celebrating half a century of progress in preventing child maltreatment by addressing the root causes of abuse and neglect. A pioneer in the field for the past 50 years, PCA America collaborates with its statewide chapter network and Healthy Families America sites to collectively lead the movement to help children and families thrive.
This milestone reminds us of the importance of partnership in prevention work: The robust history of PCA America and the strength of our network allow us to work across sectors to develop more just and equitable systems that break harmful intergenerational cycles of trauma and poverty. Moving forward, we will continue our efforts to build a world in which children and families can thrive.

Impact Story
Prevent Child Abuse America awards Prevent Child Abuse Arizona a Thriving Families, Safer Children Grant
We are excited to share that Prevent Child Abuse Arizona was recently awarded $32,500 over two years by Prevent Child Abuse America to support primary prevention efforts as part of the Thriving Families, Safer Children strategy. This grant, with funding from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, will focus on the development of intentional cross-systems partnerships and the integration of the core components of public health approaches to preventing child abuse and neglect.
With this grant, Prevent Child Abuse Arizona will partner with Our Sister Our Brother Inc., a nonprofit focusing on preserving families, family advocacy and racial justice. The organization provides learning, networking and leadership development opportunities for African-American individuals with lived experience of the child protection system, with the goal of supporting them to lead the Thriving Families, Safer Children movement in Arizona.

Ask Your Senators to Support Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment (CAPTA) in FY23 Appropriations
Senators Bob Casey (D-PA) and John Cornyn (R-TX) are leading a bipartisan appropriations letter to their Senate colleagues in support of increased funding for the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) in Fiscal Year 2023. It is extremely important that this effort remains bipartisan by getting as many Senators as possible to sign on -- and they are most likely to do that when they hear directly from you, their constituents. This letter calls for substantially increased resources to support a reformed CAPTA.

All sticky notes will have the sponsor’s logo. This station is positioned in a heavily trafficked area of the exhibitor space and is a popular location for photography. You can station a few of your personnel at the wall to engage with attendees and discuss how your organization aligns with their innovative ideas.

Director's Corner
"This book is IT! Through captivating stories and clear science, Dr. Suskind demonstrates that in order to promote child well-being, as well as national health, economic prosperity, and happiness, we need to start by supporting parents. I have never read anything that so elegantly and plainly articulates our philosophy at Prevent Child Abuse Arizona. A must-read for anyone who cares about kids!” – Claire Louge, Executive Director, Prevent Child Abuse Arizona
