Graffiti experts place the
national price tag of graffiti vandalism at $20 billion a year.
But the cost to neighborhoods and communities is felt in other ways closer to home … graffiti causes unsightly views, costs time and labor for clean up, and causes a decline in property values.
The National Association of Realtors has estimated that graffiti decreases property value by 15 percent. If the graffiti is obscene or hateful, the
property value can decrease up to 25 percent.
