Black & African American Mental Health Resources

Black History Month

"People of color and all those whose lives have been marginalized by those in power experience life differently from those whose lives have not been devalued. They experience overt racism and bigotry far too often, which leads to a mental health burden that is deeper than what others may face."

Family Fun in February

Bake Together This Month!

The Home Baking Association has designated February as “Bake for Family Fun Month.” We think this a fun way to spend some time together as a family during the cold wintery days. Doing activities as a family stregthens bonds and opens up the lines of communication. The more time you spend together having fun, the more likely your teen will open up when they need support.

Here is a link to some recipes for all ages and skill levels.

Kratom is a substance that is marketed as a natural supplement, but its psychoactive properties and potential for addiction raise significant concerns. Currently, kratom products are sold in CT without age restrictions and have been found by youth doing “environmental scans” at vape shops, corner stores, and bodegas. We are tracking a proposed bill that would make it illegal to sell kratom to anyone under 21. Learn more in our legislative update below. Click the images below to learn more about Kratom.
