PREVENTION

is the key and it works!

Drug prevention is the only answer to save many of our children from a life of pain and suffering. When we think of substance misuse we often think of a hardcore addict in a movie utilizing needles to get high. But that isn't usually the case and all substances like pot, pills, alcohol and nicotine often go undetected. Young people are targeted because of their developing brains. Most addicted persons will tell you they started before the age of 18.

So the questions is WHY??

IS YOUR CHILD AT RISK FOR ADDICTION?

HOW TO KNOW AND WHAT TO DO

Most kids will experiment with alcohol or other drugs at some point in their lives, but not everyone is at equal risk of developing problems. How do you know if your child will be the one in four who goes on to develop a substance use or mental health challenge? In this talk you will learn about why some kids are more at risk than others, how to know if your child is at elevated risk, and what you can do about it.

Vaping nicotine in e-cigarettes is often the Gateway to vaping Marijuana. The high potency of the cannabis today, utilizing Dabs, often leads to serious psychosis and in some cases suicide.

The good news is that the vast majority of teens do not use substances and will not have a lifelong struggle. One of those reasons is the adults who listen and who talk to them in their young lives!

Screenagers "Under the Influence" is just one of the films created by Dr. Delaney Ruston. It is amazing, impactful and a game changer for parents. Go to www.screenagers.org for more insight and other tools for parents.

Mental health and substance misuse have an 83% crossover. Often one can lead to the other. Using substances such as high potency marijuana can result in serious mental health issues like anxiety, depression, psychosis and even schizophrenia!
