Preview the new design for eHRAF World Cultures
HRAF is excited to announce that we will officially launch the new design for our eHRAF World Cultures database in Fall 2021. Current eHRAF members can preview the beta application to explore new features and improvements in preparation for the launch. We look forward to exhibiting virtually at the 2021 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition next month. If you are planning to attend, please visit our booth to learn more about our new database design as well as our other products. HRAF has attended several academic conferences so far this year. Learn more in our Spring recap. Finally, we are pleased to feature the important work of Ouattara Seydou, one of our HRAF Global Scholars for 2021.
After years of development and months of beta testing, the new look for eHRAF World Cultures

We look forward to seeing you at the American Library Association Annual Conference & Exhibition virtual event on June 23-29, 2021.

This online event will feature educational programming, discussions, virtual exhibits, and more. The conference provides a virtual space to learn, grow, and stay connected to the library community.

HRAF will be a virtual exhibitor at the event. Our booth will feature information about the new look for eHRAF World Cultures, tutorial videos, and eHRAF Workbooks for teaching and learning.

If you are planning to attend the ALA Annual Virtual conference in June, please make sure to visit the HRAF booth to chat with our member services manager, Matthew Longcore, and our digital anthropologist, Dr. Francine Barone.

HRAF was pleased to attend several recent conferences and events throughout Spring 2021. We were delighted to have the opportunity to showcase our latest teaching materials, including the eHRAF Workbooks for Introductory Anthropology and Archaeology as well as the latest syllabi and exercises from Teaching eHRAF.

Our team of HRAF anthropologists also presented their cross-cultural research findings on Disasters and Climate Change and offered a coding workshop for researchers to learn how to prepare their own cross-cultural studies.

HRAF is grateful to the organizers and attendees of these excellent virtual conferences for the opportunity to share the research and instructional materials that we have produced. We look forward to next year’s meetings, which will hopefully be safe to conduct in person.

We are pleased to feature the work of our HRAF Global Scholars for 2021. Our featured scholar this month is Ouattara Seydou, a PhD candidate in Sociology, Socioeconomics, Governance, and Development at Alassane Ouattara University in Bouaké in Côte d'Ivoire.

Seydou is in the third year of his doctoral program. His thesis, "The Ivorian school: challenges and perspectives for a successful education system", is aimed at understanding how the decolonization of educational systems could enable quality education for the development of Africa, particularly in Côte d'Ivoire. We wish Ouattara Seydou continued success with his research using the eHRAF databases.

To support funding priorities such as the HRAF Global Scholarship, please consider making a tax-deductible donation.
