The Air Force Marathon is an annual endurance event held the third Saturday of September at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. First held in 1997 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Air Force, the Air Force Marathon has grown into a multi-day event with runners from all fifty states and many foreign countries.
Race weekend features five event distances; a marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and Tailwind Trot 1K kids’ run as well as a three-person marathon relay and two Fly! Fight! Win! Challenge Series where runners can earn a fourth medal after completing the 5K, 10K, and half marathon or marathon in one weekend. Other exciting events include our two-day Health & Fitness Expo, Gourmet Pasta Dinner, Finish Line Festival, and After Party!

Can't make it to Ohio the third weekend of September? We have you covered! Join us from afar and complete one of the virtual race distances any day in September! We offer the marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K in the virtual format where you may walk, run, or walk/run your full distance wherever you would like. Please note the 2023 official race shirt, race bib, and finisher’s medal for the virtual event will all be the same design and not specify the distance completed.

The Gourmet Pasta Dinner will be held Friday, September 15th at the National Museum of the United States Air Force where a hearty pasta meal will be served buffet style with vegetarian and gluten free options. This event is open to the public and a special guest speaker will be featured. The National Museum of the United States Air Force will be open to tour as well. |

The Premier Package is an exclusive offer which elevates your race day experience! The Premier Package includes one parking pass for the closest parking to the start line on Saturday, September 16th at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. A post-race recovery massage and access to the Premier Package tent at the start/finish line are also included! Limited space available.

Featuring Kendra Herber and Optimus Prosthetics, this free clinic focuses on basics and performance for lower extremity amputees wanting to improve their running skills. World-class triathlete, author and model Kendra Herber will be there to provide instruction for experienced amputee runners who want to improve their technique. Gait specialist and physical therapist Andrea Kinsinger from Optimus Prosthetics will be there to provide training for those interested in beginning running. In addition, Kendra Herber will also present signed copies of her book, "Whole: A Leg Up On Life". Optimus Prosthetics in Dayton, Ohio is the provider for Kendra's prosthesis. The clinic will take place in the McClin Gym at the Nutter Center at the following time: Thursday, September 14th, 5-7 pm. Clinic is free. Deadline for registration is September 1st. Please select which level of the running clinic you would like to participate in: Running Basics or Advanced Running Techniques. SEA, AIR, & SPACE CHALLENGE |

Earn an American made Sea, Air, & Space Challenge medal (design coming soon!) by completing any distance offered in person, virtually or a combination of the two at each of the three race events.

- Runners must also separately register for and participate in one race of any distance at all three participating events: the Coast Guard Marathon, Air Force Marathon, and Space Force T-Minus 10-Miler.
- Virtual options are available for all races at all three participating events.
- Challenge medals will be shipped upon completion of all three of the 2023 events.
- Domestic, FPO, APO, DPO shipping is included. International shipping is an additional $25. Please add international shipping as an item to your order if your address is outside of the United States.
- Registration is open through February 19 for the in-person Coast Guard Marathon or March 3 for the virtual Coast Guard Marathon and Sea, Air, & Space Challenge.
