Pricks!!! 3/13/22
Acts 9:1-6 (KJV)
1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
GOOD MORNING! GOOD MORNING! GOOD MORNING!!
AND happy resurrection day!!!
NO, not THE Resurrection Day commonly referred to INCORRECTLY as Easter........
BUT the BLESSED day we end the CURSED Daylight “Savings” Days!
As one wise person remarked, “Only a “educated” person would believe that cutting off the hem of a dress or pant and adding it to the top would make the garment longer??????
PS-I am also curious as to whether FB will censor me for my title-PRICK is NOT a curse or vulgar word:
PRICK-1: a mark or shallow hole made by a pointed instrument
2a: a pointed instrument or weapon
b: a sharp projecting organ or part
a: a nagging or sharp feeling of remorse, regret, or sorrow
b: a slight sharply localized discomfortthe prick of a needle
In my DAILY and PERSONAL Bible reading I came upon the above Scriptures and could read no further.
Six short Bible Verses and my DAILY Bible reading came to its conclusion.
AS an aside, dear reader, our reading of OUR Bible need not be a QUANTITIVE reading but rather a QUALITY reading!!!!
As one dear music mentor pointed out to me MANY years ago,
When you find a certain worship song touching people's hearts, STAY on that ONE song-Do not go on with your “scheduled” program or list of songs-STAY THERE!!!!
Since it was EARLY morning and my computer was not present, I hastily Googled the word “OXGOAD” the Bible also terms PRICK.
The PRICK or OXGOAD is and was a “sharp, pointed tool used to direct animals.”
Jesus told Paul,”
“IT IS HARD FOR THEE TO KICK AGAINST THE PRICKS/OXGOADS!!!”
Solomon wrote years earlier these Words:
Proverbs 13:15 (KJV)
15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.
“BUT THE WAY OF TRANSGRESSORS IS HARD!”
What God showed me and spoke to my heart is this:
GOD has each of us in His hands-
“HE'S GOT THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HANDS..................”
WE “are where we are for a very good reason! THIS is OUR place in this world and there is NO ONE else who can take OUR place!!!!!!”
Whether YOUR “profession” is a truck driver or a barber, nurse or student, preacher or deacon, leader or follower, GOD has PLACED us there!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jesus said:
John 15:16 (KJV)
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Please read the above Scripture again-SLOWLY AND BELIEVING!!!
An animal that is being LED or GOADED or PRICKED is only being PRICKED if it refuses or hesitates to go and follow the Shepherds direction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND, the more the animal balks and refuses, the deeper the PRICKS or jabs!!!
TODAY, much like our use of GPS, IF the cell phone is silent, perhaps you are on the right road!!!
Only when that man or woman's recorded voice on our phone squeaks at us MUST we change direction and follow-the squeaking and the PRICKING will not cease until WE obey!!
How many PRICKS must God PRICK until we submit?????
SELAH-THINK ABOUT IT!!!
Once God has OUR full attention, He WILL speak to us and direct our paths:
