A Good Time Was Had by All!
For Black Pride, MHFOA hosted a screening of Board Member Michelle Parkerson's film "A Litany for Survival: The Life and Work of Audre Lorde." Participants from California to Canada and parts in-between enjoyed the film and the BLM discussion afterwards about the importance of this Black Shero to the intersectionality of being Black, female and LGBTQ+/SGL.
Be on the look out for Michelle's upcoming documentary that tells the story of a group of Black LGBT Q+/SGL artists/activists that emerged during the 1980s. This was a time of phenomenal creativity and political ferment in Washington DC's Black Lesbian and Gay circles.
