June is Pride Month…The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history, our lives and the world. This is just one of many colorful threads that weave the fabric of our diverse world.
Diversity is the range of human differences; ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, social class, physical ability or attributes, religious or ethical values system, national origin, and political beliefs. We also differ in language, culture, education, skills, income and countless other domains. This diversity drives social vitality, and economic innovation.
Research suggests that intolerance hurts our well-being—and that individuals thrive when they are able to tolerate and embrace the diversity of the world. Cultivating our ability to forge relationships across differences can actually increase our well-being.

Take time to recognize and applaud the courageous people in your lives who have worked to weave the patterns of our extraordinary world.
Look around you, embrace and love our differences...
Peace, Angela
