Annual Pride Havdallah Service/Reception
Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre (MNJCC) Chapel and Rm. 318, 3rd floor
Saturday, June 162018
7:00 p.m.

Join us for our 12th annual Shabbat in celebration of Pride, led by Rabbi Aviva Goldberg with chazzanut and music by Paula Wolfson.
Havdallah Service: World Pride, 2014
This evening service will include Havdallah, the end of Sabbath ceremony. We will use traditional and modern prayers, as well as religious and secular literature and thought that reflect LGBTQ+ experience.
The service will include Eden Nameri's storytelling about the queer relationship of David and Jonathan.
It will be followed by a desserts reception, where people can socialize together. We thank Jamie Flagal and Laurie Goodman for generously sponsoring the reception.
The event is open to all ages. (Childcare will not be available at this program.)

What's the buzz? I'll tell you what's a-happening! One woman, 18 characters, 50 minutes. Come for Superstar, stay for Judas. Amen!

Three generations of a tight-knit family cram into a rental car to drive to a funeral. Neuroses collide, emotions run high, grievances are aired and over-shared, traffic laws are broken.

We thank the following people for their contributions to  Shir Libeynu:

  • In honour of Rabbi Aviva Goldberg for memorializing his wife Wendy's life, from Michael Herman to the Shir Libeynu and Rabbi's Development Funds.
Laurie Goodman and Jamie Flagal for sponsoring our Pride Havdallah Reception.
