UPDATE: HELPING CHILDREN IN MEXICO
Since 2015, RWF has been supporting projects in Oaxaca, Mexico that help underprivileged and orphaned children.

RWF Board Member Yew-How Tan recently had the privilege of meeting with students from two beneficiary organizations. Casa De Kids provides immediate assistance to children in need offering vital assistance such as food, clothing, and school supplies. The Oaxaca Learning Center provides much-needed academic tutoring and social service support to low-income students from underserved urban neighborhoods and indigenous rural villages throughout the state of Oaxaca.
Education and literacy prepares them for self-sufficiency and a career that surpasses their family’s dreams. This empowers these children to succeed in life, becoming contributing members of the world. The programs support the children with anything they need to stay in school, become independent and self-reliant. RWF is currently helping educate 22 students.
A video thank you from three students that RWF has helped.

-- Leticia's mom has just an elementary school education. Her dad does odd jobs. Before her marriage the family of FIVE lived in a two room "casita" barely big enough for two beds. She's now living better, and working full time as a teacher.

-- Jesus, was abandoned by both his parents when he was a baby; he has no recollection of them, and was taken in by his grandparents. Most kids of that era are lucky to have an elementary or high school education level. He excels regardless of challenges.

-- Josue, became orphaned when he was 2 years old, when both his parents were killed in a car crash. His grandparents took him in; his grandmother is illiterate, and mainly speaks her native Zapotec language. His grandfather herds sheep, and works the fields; they moved to Oaxaca so he could go to high school.
"I am grateful help that amidst the challenges of the COVID pandemic, I had the privilege of experiencing first hand the positive impact that these beneficiary organizations are having in the lives of those around them". — Yew-Hoe Tan
