Our Family Coalition may have the opportunity to implement a community leadership cohort from September 2024 to June 2025. We are gauging interest to determine in the next month if the project is a go. Please email info@ourfamily.org if you are interested by July 20.
Since 2004, On The Verge has mobilized hundreds of community leaders to co-create solutions to pressing social, health, and economic inequities by developing cohorts of leaders who create new programs, improve services, and influence policies and systems. OTV cohorts build a culture of mutual reliance and support that encourages vulnerability, feedback, and risk-taking, all of which lead to profound personal, interpersonal, and professional growth. Through monthly meetings, an overnight retreat, and one-on-one coaching, “Vergers” develop relationships, leadership skills, and wellness practices, and engage in a group project that advances community solutions by and for LGBTQ+ families.
- We are looking for 10-12 seasoned and emerging community leaders over the age of 18 who live in Alameda County. If you care about racial, gender, and economic justice and well-being for the full and expanding spectrum of LGBTQ+ families, you are our community! This includes LGBTQ+ families with and without dependent children, LGBTQ+ foster parents, adult children in LGBTQ+ families, and more.
- Cohort members work 10-12 hours per month and are paid $30/hour.
- Expressing interest does not secure a spot. An application process will take place in August.
Please email info@ourfamily.org if you are interested by July 20.
