From The Desk of Fr. Mike Nacius, Pastor - June 10, 2018 Bulletin
I hope you are already aware that Cardinal Cupich is calling all priests of the Archdiocese to come together, to pray, to be renewed. Following is the recent communication sent from the Archdiocese to parishes regarding our absence from the parish.
Priests serving in the Archdiocese of Chicago will gather for their
triennial convocation from June 18 through June 21. This gathering is an important and necessary time of spiritual renewal for the priests, so that they can better serve the People of God. The priests have been asked to clear their schedules, so that they can fully participate in this experience. Consequently, during those three days, there will be no weekday Masses celebrated. However, there will be prayer services as determined by each parish. In cases of emergency, parishioners can contact parish staff who will make whatever referral is appropriate.
The people of the Archdiocese can support their priests in several ways. Their patient understanding of scheduling changes is very important. Even more important is the prayerful support they extend to priests who have prayed for them and with them. Please use the prayer found at the end of this announcement as a personal prayer or as a family prayer. As the priests of the Archdiocese gather for their convocation know that they bring you and your families in their hearts to this important time of prayer and reflection.
LORD JESUS CHRIST, eternal High Priest, you offered yourself to the Father
on the altar of the Cross
and through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit gave your
priestly people a share in your redeeming sacrifice.
Hear our prayer for all the priests of this Archdiocese of Chicago, especially as they gather in Convocation.
Grant that all who are ordained to the ministerial priesthood may be ever more conformed to You,
t
he Divine Master, the Good Shepherd.
May they preach the Gospel with pure heart and clear conscience.
Let them be shepherds according to Your own Heart, single-minded in service to
You and to the Church and shining examples of a holy, simple and joyful life.
Through the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary, draw all priests and the flocks entrusted to their
care to the
fullness of eternal life where You live and reign with the
Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. AMEN.
This coming week, our daily Mass schedule will resume with Mass celebrated at 6:30am and 8:00am Monday - Friday. All are welcome to come celebrate daily Mass with the parishioners and visitors at St Mary's.
