The North Carolina statewide primary election will be on Tuesday, May 17th with polling locations open from 6:30 am to 7:30 pm. During this election, voters can choose which candidates they prefer to be on the general election ballot in November. The purpose of a primary is to narrow the field of candidates for the general election.
