Asynchronous Day February 1
The next asynchronous learning day is Monday, February 1. There will be no live Zoom classes on that day. We ask that students stay home where possible. This gives our teachers a chance to plan for upcoming lessons and work on some ongoing professional development.

If, however, your child needs to be on campus that day, we will have staff onsite to monitor students while they complete work via their individual devices. Please complete this form by Jan 27 for each child who will require on-campus supervision so that we know how many staff members we will need to supervise.
Specials Assignments and Grades

As a reminder to all of our families who are participating in distance learning, specials classes are part of the curriculum at Meridian and are included on our report cards. Our specials teachers are working diligently to create, review, and respond to assignments for all of our distance learners as well as teaching all of our in-person learners daily. Students learning at home are expected to complete the activities assigned by each specials teacher in a timely manner.

Calendars explaining what assignments are coming each day are posted on the specials webpage and in their Seesaw or Google Classrooms. Ms. Lieurance also announces what specials assignment is to be completed on the announcements each day.

The specials grading policy can also be found on the specials website and in their Seesaw or Google Classrooms. For your convenience, they are all linked below as well. Thank you for supporting your child in getting these assignments completed!

Requests for Temporary Distance Learners

For our on-campus students, a temporary move to distance learning can be a helpful option during a short-term illness and a necessity if quarantining is required. It is not to be used as a general convenience as this places an additional strain on our most valuable resource - our teachers.

To be approved, requests must meet multiple criteria, including:

• Medical need (doctor’s note, need for quarantining)
• Duration of absence (at least three days)
• Timely notification of need (at least one day prior to switch)

If you need to request temporary distance learning for your child, please submit this form at least one day prior to the expected switch.

2021 Weekly Lessons (a work in progress)

I have been enjoying meeting all of your children! Your child’s safety and happiness are important to me, so if you feel like your child needs some extra support or is struggling, please email me to set up a time for me to meet with them. I will set up lunch bunches soon for both in person and long distance learners, and I will update the links on the website once they are sorted out. If you have any questions, please let me know. I am looking forward to serving as another adult advocate for your child!

If you feel your child is struggling and needs someone to talk with, please email me to set up a time to visit with them via zoom while they are still at home, or in person if they are at school. I am here to support your child whether it is school anxiety, friendship concerns, focus, anger, grief & more. We want their time here to be safe, happy, & productive. I am one more resource to serve our community.
