Transition to 6th Grade Meeting for 5th Grade Parents Tonight
Current 5th grade families, please join us tonight (Jan. 27) from 6-7 pm for a Transition to 6th Grade Webinar via Zoom. Learn students can look forward to in 6th grade, as well as the differences between the Middle Years Program and the Primary Years Program.

Families will also hear about the choices students have regarding their coursework: French or Spanish, Music options, and whether to continue on Meridian's already advanced math track or to accelerate to the even more challenging track that leads to Mathematical Analysis Higher Level in the Diploma Program (11th & 12th grade).

We look forward to seeing you tonight!

Equity Vision Statement Draft -- Feedback Requested

We are working on our Equity Vision Statement to guide our work though the upcoming years. Submit your thoughts regarding our Equity Vision Statement draft on this feedback form by March 22.
Reminder: The next asynchronous learning day is Monday, February 1

There will be no live Zoom classes on Feb. 1. We ask that students stay home where possible. This gives our teachers a chance to plan for upcoming lessons and work on some ongoing professional development.

If, however, your child needs to be on campus that day, we will have staff onsite to monitor students while they complete work via their individual devices. Please complete this form by Jan 27 for each child who will require on-campus supervision so that we know how many staff members we will need to supervise.
Requests for Temporary Distance Learners

For our on-campus students, a temporary move to distance learning can be a helpful option during a short-term illness and a necessity if quarantining is required. It is not to be used as a general convenience as this places an additional strain on our most valuable resource - our teachers.

To be approved, requests must meet multiple criteria*, including:

• Medical need (doctor’s note, need for quarantining)
• Duration of absence (at least three days)
• Timely notification of need (at least one day prior to switch)

If you need to request temporary distance learning for your child, please submit this form at least one day prior to the expected switch.

* 5th grade requests may be more readily approved due to the structure of learning in 5th grade.
New Partnership with Round Rock Public Library

The Meridian Libraries are excited to announce a partnership with the Round Rock Public Library, expanding student access to ebooks and audiobooks! Through the Sora app, all students can now read and listen to the public library's digital collections for youth.

This is open to all Meridian Lions - you don't have to be a Round Rock library card holder to participate. Read a handout explaining how to log in, add the public library, and get reading. Open up the app and discover a new story!
