Primary Results

From the Chairman

Our objective this year is to win the three top statewide races: Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General. Democrats offer a clear and hopeful message to build a better Texas. We represent equality, truth, and prosperity. In their primaries, the ultra-conservatives have doubled down on candidates that seek to do even more to repress our rights and deny our votes. The time is now for us to stop this madness.

As expected, there will be runoffs in several races for the Democratic nomination and a few runoffs on the other side as well. Here’s the overall status as of Wednesday morning. Full updated results are available here.

Folks, it’s time to get rid of Sid!

District Races

State Board of Education, District 5

Rebecca Bell-Metereau will face Mark Lowe in November. We’re all in to retain this seat and help Rebecca hold the tide against attacks on teachers, librarians, and public schools.

State Senator, District 23

Robert Walsh (D) ran uncontested and he will face incumbent Donna Campbell (R) in November. Robert will be our guest for the March 9 Blanco Dems Meeting. Please join us to learn about his unique approach to winning this race.

Texas House, District 19

Blanco County Democrat Pam Bagget also ran unopposed. Ellen Troxclair (R 38%) and Justin Berry (R 35%) must compete in the May runoff to decide who Pam’s opponent will be.

This is an opportunity for Democrats and especially Pam to watch them go at each other with their ultra-conservative rhetoric. Pam will also be our guest at the March 9 Blanco Dems Meeting.

Local Contested Races

County Clerk – Incumbent Laura Walla won her primary.

County Commissioner, Precinct 2 – Emil Ray Uecker won his primary.

County Commissioner, Precinct 4 – Charles Riley (42%), will face Dobie Benson (26%) in the runoff.
