IN NEW YORK TIMES ARTICLE, CPAM TAKES FLIGHT AS AN AVIATION HISTORY MUST-SEE
College Park Aviation Museum runs as lead-in among signature aviation sites featured in NYTimes... CPAM
A round of applause to the dedicated staff at College Park Aviation Museum (who keep the county's nationally significant aviation heritage relevant and entertaining), and those behind the scenes that help us push our heritage tourism message. Recently, with major prodding from our allies with the Maryland Office of Tourism, the New York Times featured CPAM in a wonderful piece titled "Aviation Museums Where the Imagination Can Soar". The article was published in conjunction with National Wright Brothers Day (Dec. 17) to great fanfare.

So, in "dollars & cents", what exactly is such exposure worth from a major metropolitan pub's print and viral feed (seen around the globe)? Based on analysis, it's the equivalent of almost $65K in comparable ad value. Fly on CPAM, Fly on!

WITH MODERN SOUTH FLAV, "BIRD" NEST IN THE GATEWAY ARTS DISTRICT
New Mt. Rainier dine spot brings an affordable,  unpretentious  vibe to fine dining...
Unassuming and low-key. Located directly on corner of Rhode Island and 34th, at first pass, you may not immediately see it, but its worth the effort. The Bird Kitchen & Cocktails restaurant is now open in Mt. Rainier - part of the Gateway Arts District. After a successful soft opening a few weeks ago, BKC is a hit among locals with it's laid-back, minimalist atmosphere and "Modern South" menu.

BKC is the creation of  Chef Lenard "Lenny" Robin son. He has an accomplished culinary resume having served as the Executive Chef at Taste Gastropub, Amuse Restaurant, Peasant Bistro, and The Tasting Room. He is also the former Owner/Chef of Atlanta's Les Fleurs De Lis Cafe. BKC is currently open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Mission BBQ Greenbelt is located in the former space of the Atlanta Bread Co. at 5506 Cherrywood Lane. Actual storefront is on Greenbelt Road.

TROPICAL SMOOTHIE CAFE HAS PLANS TO OPEN A BOWIE LOCATION IN 2016
As part of regional expansion plan, the fast-casual cafe includes Bowie on their hot list...
Okay, the name is a bit misleading. Yes, Tropical Smoothie Cafe sells a variety of delicious and good-for-you smoothies, but TSC is also known for its solid fast-casual fresh selection.

As part of a major East Coast franchise growth plan, TSC plans to open 25 new posts in Maryland over the next 3-5 years. One of those locations is confirmed for Bowie later this year. Currently, TSC has five locations throughout the state.

TSC's slogan is "eat better, feel better" with a flavorful menu of toasted wraps, bistro sandwiches, grilled flatbreads, and gourmet salads. Founded in 1997, Tropical Smoothie Cafe is a fast-casual restaurant concept inspiring healthy lifestyles across the country, with over 445 locations nationwide. With snack and meal options for any time of day, Tropical Smoothie Cafe serves smoothies, salads, tacos, wraps, sandwiches, and flatbreads.

Curry Leaf and Chez Dior recognized among "TopTen" $20 Diner Favorites in the DMV...
The people have spoken. Two ethnic dine spots, Curry Leaf and Chez Dior, in Prince George's County have received a huge endorsement for diners in search of outstanding cuisine on a budget.

Both restaurants made the Washington Post-Going Out Guide's "$20 Diner's List of Favorite Restaurants".  Curry Leaf, located in Laurel, features Indian and Sri Lankin dishes. Chez Dior in Hyattsville features dishes from Senegalese and West Africa.

PGC ADDS FLAV WHEN "TOP CHEF" BRINGS COASTAL GREEK CONCEPT TO COLLEGE PARK NEXT YEAR
Isabella's Kapnos Taverna will open early 2017 at The Hotel at the University Of Maryland...
Yes, Chef Mike Isabella is coming to town. If you're a foodie, you know the name from his many dine endeavors (such as Graffiato, G by Mike Isabella, Kapnos, Kapnos Taverna). You may also know him from his appearance on Season Six of "Top Chef" and as a runner-up on "Top Chef All-Stars".  Isabella has also been named FOOD & WINE magazine's The People's Best New Chef Mid-Atlantic.

Next year, PGC will get his "Top Chef" experience. Isabella will be bringing his Kapnos Taverna to the Hotel at the University of Maryland (currently under construction) in College Park. Slated to open in early 2017, Kapnos Taverna serves classic and coastal-inspired Greek dishes, including favorites from the Greek Islands along with tastes from other regions known for their fine local products.  A sister restaurant to Isabella's Kapnos, located on 14th Street in Washington, D.C., Kapnos Taverna features more traditional takes on the ancient cuisine alongside some of the biggest hits from his modern ode to mainland and Northern Greece. The restaurant's liquid offerings feature a Greek-heavy wine list and Mediterranean-inspired cocktails.
