Based on recent figures, overall - county props outperforming region...
Numbers tell the story. In the most recent destination reports, the Prince George's County hospitality sector achieved positive year-to-date growth in occupancy, average daily rate, and revenue per available room. Compared to 2015 3rd Quarter stats, for the year leading up to September, PGC Occ was up 2%, ADR up 4.94%, and RevPAR up 5.96%.

These numbers represent the highest overall YTD surge of all the surrounding DMV destinations (including Washington DC, Montgomery County, Anne Arundel County, Fairfax County, Arlington County, and Alexandria).

MEMPHIS DINING INSTITUTION, "GUS'S WORLD FAMOUS" COMING TO THE DMV THRU PGC
New franchise out of Tennessee will replace Siri's Chef Secret in Greenbelt...

A franchise unit of the Memphis-based chain  Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken is coming to Greenbelt. It will be located at 5810 Greenbelt Road, currently the dine space of  Siri's Chef's Secret Thai restaurant.

Now, let's be clear. This is not your ordinary fast-food variety dine spot. This is Gus's, a Tennessee icon, lauded for serving what may be the best fried chicken in the country. Gus's was recently voted #1 "Best in Memphis".  What sets Gus's apart is tender and extra juicy chicken in a unique spiced batter. The batter recipe was created by founder "Gus" Bonner and has been a family secret since 1953.

As for atmosphere, its unpretentious, with a family "picnic" vibe. The menu covers southern favorites and expect brew (and possibly wine) to match.

This will be the first Gus's to land in the DMV-B'more metroplex. No details as yet on when the transition may begin, so we'll keep you posted.

2017 AND BEYOND, BAYSOX LOOK TO SECURE NAMING RIGHTS DEAL FOR PRINCE GEORGE'S STADIUM
In possible 10 year deal, added revenue will aid in stadium maintenance and enhancements...

Speaking of the Bowie Baysox... In a progressive play, the team - in cooperation with their stadium's owner, the Maryland National Captial Park & Planning Commission (MNCPPC), is shopping the nameplate for Prince George's Stadium.

In what will probably be a 10-year naming rights deal, the influx of revenue will aid in continuing maintenance and improvements at the stadium. The team's hopeful that a naming rights partner will be in place by the start of the 2017 season. The first home game of 2017 is April 17.

"We believe this is a great opportunity to form a partnership that will encourage economic growth and community development in the region," said Baysox President Ken Young. "This investment partnership will be crucial to our future here in central Maryland. Our hope is to join with another established brand with an area presence to help achieve mutually beneficial goals."

Located in Bowie, just off Route 301 & 50, Prince George's Stadium has been home to the Baysox for 24 years. During the 2015 season, it welcomed its 7 millionth fan.
