Investing in Your Child
Victoria Carter, Director of Admissions
As a mother, I often spend my evenings and weekends running my children from activity to activity while making sure everyone has homework completed and dinner on the table while keeping a clean home. After my children are bathed and in bed, I often find myself thinking back through the day and wondering did I spend enough time with my kids? Did I spend more time organizing their day and not enough just soaking in the little moments? As parents, I think that most of us put unrealistic expectations on ourselves. However, the truth is that are children spend more waking hours in school than anywhere else. That is why choosing a school for your children is one of the most important decisions you will make for them.

We live in a time where many families often spend money on vacations, new cars, drive-thru coffees, and shopping trips. While these are things that may be enjoyed for a period of time, you can know that the investment you make in your children’s education is much more important and will continue to pay dividends for many years to come. Our children are one of our greatest rewards in life so shouldn’t we also consider them as worthy of some our biggest investments?
As a parent of a student here at Prince Avenue Christian School, you have already displayed your understanding of the importance of investing in Christian education. At Prince, your student is receiving an exceptional academic education, with small classes, dedicated teachers, a wide variety of award winning co-curricular opportunities and a safe environment where parent involvement is encouraged. But most importantly, your child is being impacted daily by the Biblical worldview integrated into each subject they learn, while also being mentored by teachers who desire to impact the lives of students through the ministry of Christian education.

I personally saw the importance of my investment in Prince this past year when my son dedicated his life to Christ and was later baptized. Since he was a small infant, I prayed many things over him every night when putting him to bed, but the one I prayed the loudest was that he would find salvation through Jesus at a young age. Our church and household preached the love of Christ to him weekly, but I am so thankful that we also had a Christian school to partner with that preached the same Biblical truth to him daily as well.
Every year, there seems to be an increase in new families who want to invest in private Christian education for their children. We had a record number of new students enroll at Prince this year. We had to turn away many other applicants due to waiting lists in certain grade levels or “mission fit” concerns. We are already tracking ahead in applicants for next year compared to this current year. We want to maintain our low student-to-teacher ratio, so we are limited in the number of students we can enroll.

We have great families at Prince. That is why you always get priority in spaces for the new school year. This year, more than ever, we encourage you to reenroll early to reserve your spot for next year. As of February 9th, we will open all remaining spots to new students, and we cannot guarantee a space to current students who have not completed reenrollment at that time.
If you have any questions about your family reenrollment, enrolling new students at PACS, or if you would like us to contact any prospective families who may be interested in making an eternal investment through their child’s education, please contact me at vcarter@princeave.org
