EGG DROP
The band boosters, with the help of the students, will sponsor an Easter fundraiser to support the band scholarship fund. Deadline to order is April 12. Forms/payment can be dropped off at the band hall. Click here for order form.
PISD BOND ELECTION MAY 4
Following the recommendation from the Long-Range Planning Committee, the PISD school board voted to call a $237.4 million bond election to fund future construction projects to accommodate the growth explosion. The election will be Saturday, May 4.
EARLY RELEASE
PISD will release early May 30 for the last day of school. Schools will observe the following release schedule: PHS releases at 12:05 p.m., buses run at 12:30 after lunch; Clark releases at 12:35 p.m.; Huddleston, 12:35 p.m.; and all elementary schools release at 1:30 p.m.
SCHOOLS CLOSED
Princeton schools and offices will be closed Friday, April 19, for Good Friday. Normal classes and office hours resume Monday, April 22.

SALON OPEN
The salon at the Carol Bodwell CATE Center is now open and advanced cosmetology students are ready for appointments. The salon will be open the first and third Thursdays of each month from 8-10 a.m. and 12:15-5 p.m.

BOARD APPROVES SCHOOL CALENDAR FOR TWO YEARS
The school board adopted the calendar for the 2019-2020 school year, and approved a preliminary draft of the 2020-2021 school calendar.
For the 20-21 calendar, the state has not finalized dates for testing. In addition, the district will need to add an early release date for homecoming.
The district also wants to see where Collin College puts its spring break before picking the week since so many students take dual credit courses.

CAP AND GOWNS
SENIOR BREAKFAST
Senior breakfast will be 8 a.m. May 30. Parents that want to help serve need to contact Mrs. Lauren Stokes, 469.952.5400 ext. 3041. Table seating and food is reserved for seniors and parents. After breakfast, seniors will have graduation practice in the main gym.
SENIOR BREAKFAST SLIDESHOW
If parents have photos of seniors from elementary, junior high or high school they would like to include in the slide show at breakfast, please send a digital copy to jbrown@princetonisd.net. Please use Senior Slide Show in the subject and include the name of your student. Deadline for submitting photos for the event is Friday, May 10.
This is not the same slideshow that will be shown at graduation.
BACCALAUREATE
Baccalaureate will be Tuesday, May 28, at 7 p.m. in the PHS auditorium. Seniors will need to arrive at PHS by 6:30 p.m.
GRADUATION PRACTICE
The first graduation practice is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7. The remaining graduation practices for seniors are May 9 and May 30. More dates will be added if needed.
SENIOR TRIP
The 2019 senior trip will be May 29 to Lake Lavon Camp. Cost is $10, which includes a meal. Seniors pay Mrs. Teresa Rodriguez in the front office. Meet at PHS that morning to take attendance, and all students will take school transportation. All seniors will need to sign a school permission form and waiver. Parents are needed to chaperone. ATHLETIC PHYSICALS
Princeton ISD will host athletic physicals at the Andrews Institute at Children's Health again this year from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4. FCA MEETS
The PHS Huddle of FCA meets Friday mornings at 7 in Lecture Hall E114. Everyone is welcome. Donuts will be served.

PROM
The PHS prom for juniors and seniors will be 7-11 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the
Collin College Conference Center, 2400 Community Ave. in McKinney. The theme will be "A Royal Ball."

El Dorado donates car for giveaway.
|
In an effort to keep students safe following prom, PHS will host an after-party, and El Dorado Mazda and Chevrolet will give away another car.
This is the fourth year El Dorado in McKinney has donated a vehicle to PHS. This year's prize is a black 2009 Chevrolet Malibu V-6. One lucky licensed Princeton student will win the car at the end of the after-prom party at McKinney Apex Centre indoor/outdoor waterpark Saturday, May 18.
Students must attend the after-party and be present to win.
The drawing for the car will be held at the end of the party at Apex Centre, located at 3003 Alma Road, McKinney, TX 75070.

GODWIN TALENT SHOW
Auditions for the Godwin talent show are open to any kindergarten through 5th-grade student and will be held April 30-May 1 during each grade level's Prime Time in Principal Marlena Brown's office.
Talents might include s
inging a song, a dance routine, playing an instrument, telling jokes, demonstrating skills in ball handling for basketball or soccer, gymnastics, karate or magic tricks.
The talent show for kindergarten through 2nd grade will be 2 and 6 p.m. Thursday, May 16, in the cafeteria.

Smith Elementary Honor Society completed a Glow Run recently to raise funds for Collin County's homeless shelter, the Samaritan Inn. Nolan Harper, a 5th-grade student leader in Honor Society, raised the most in donations, allowing him to drop off the donation check to officials at the shelter. With $200 in donations, these funds will provide financial help for those in need at the Samaritan Inn.

CASINO NIGHT
The Princeton Chamber of Commerce will host its 3rd annual Casino Night from 7-10:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at 1899 Farmhouse Event Venue, 7450 FM 982 in Princeton. Princeton's First Baptist Church at 511 Jefferson Ave. sponsors the Community Clothes Closet, which is open from 5-7 p.m. the second Tuesday of every month.
