Welcome to the 33rd edition of Email Express, the communications tool utilized by Princeton Independent School District. It is distributed weekly to keep you informed. Districtwide events are featured at the top, followed by a section for each campus to make information easier to navigate.

Summer Pride registration open
Online registration for Panther Summer Pride is now available. Visit the district website and click the extracurricular tab, select athletics, click the sports camps tab, choose Princeton HS from the drop-down and register for the correct session or click this link: princetonisd.net.
Summer camps available to future Panthers
Sport-specific summer camps are set. Camps include baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball, volleyball and wrestling. To register online for the camps, visit https://www.princetonisd.net/. From the Princeton ISD website, click Extracurricular on the home page bar, then Athletics, then use the Sports Camp tab and select Princeton High School and the choose the camp. Payment can be made online or at the door on the first day of camp.

Mayfield tour
The future staff of Mary Mayfield Elementary gathered at 5970 Waterway Dr. today for a tour of the new campus. Principal Jason Brown and his faculty were joined by the school’s namesake, who also taught a few of the soon-to-be Mayfield teachers.
Kindergarten graduation
All five kindergarten graduations will be held on the same day, which is Saturday, May 14, at Princeton High School following the schedule below. More details will be released as the ceremonies get closer.

9 a.m. - Lowe

1 p.m. - Smith
3 p.m. - Lacy
5 p.m. - Godwin
Food distribution
Stop by Clark Middle School on Wednesday, May 18, starting at 3:05 p.m. (while supplies last) to pick up food for your family.

Clark has partnered with the North Texas Food Bank to help the community. This means anyone can get produce and dry goods for their family. Go to the car loop by the main entrance after dismissal and volunteers will load up your car.
Early release
PISD will release early Wednesday, May 25, for the last day of school. Schools will observe the following release schedule: PHS and Lovelady release at 12:05 p.m., buses run at 12:30 after lunch; Clark and Southard release at 12:35 p.m.; all elementary schools release at 1:30 p.m.; and Canup releases at 1:40 p.m.

Board meeting schedule
Board meetings are held monthly, typically on the third Monday of the month, except on months when the meeting would conflict with a school holiday. Board meetings, which are held in the board room at the administration building between Clark and the stadium, begin at 6:30 p.m. and are open to the public. Office hours
Normal business hours for the PISD administration building are 7:15 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For elementary campuses, office hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, and secondary campuses are 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Princeton High School
UIL to state
The UIL academic team competed at UIL regionals. The journalism team got the UIL state trip started with Rachel Sadler receiving a 3rd-place medal and first place regional championship, earning her an opportunity to compete at state in editorial and news writing. Senior Charlee Proctor, Junior Paola Diaz and Junior Robert Arroyo earned medals with 6th place in poetry, 6th in informative and 5th in persuasive. Junior Savannah Brewer also earned a spot at UIL state by earning 3rd in LD debate.
Free Collin credits
Collin College will provide tuition and fee credits for up to six credit hours this summer for all graduating seniors in its service area, which includes Princeton. Whether attending Collin in the fall, headed to a university or not sure about the next, this is an opportunity to springboard into graduation goals.

CATE awards
The end-of-year CATE awards ceremony will be 6 p.m. Monday, May 2, in the PHS auditorium.
PHS U.S. history quiz bowl
PHS U.S. history students spent a day competing in a quiz bowl activity testing their knowledge. 

They had to be quick on the button and accurate with their answers.

This round pitted Sidnee Crowley’s students Emilio Solos and Briana Sanchez against Christian Baker’s students Kivon Nash and Emilio Moreno.

At the rate of his correct answers, Emilio Solis should try out for Jeopardy.
FFA speaking
At the FFA District Speaking Contest, Charlee Proctor placed 1st in Ag Policy and will compete at Area May 7. 

In addition, Adam Campbell started a campaign to serve as a district officer by taking an FFA knowledge test and had a round of interviews. He will speak at the FFA District meeting May 2.
PHS senior athletic banquet
The senior athletic banquet will be 6 p.m. May 19 at PHS.

Dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and the cost will be $25 per ticket if purchased by May 1.

 Senior athletes are free. 
 Everyone pays to enter this event, even if you do not plan to eat.
 May 2, tickets increase to $30 per person.

PHS senior brag tables
Senior athlete brag tables are a great way to show off your student during the senior athletic banquet.

Guidelines
-Table set-up will be from 3-4 p.m. May 19
-Supply your own card table (34 inch by 34 inch)
-Supply your own decorations
-If parents cannot get there at designated time, another adult can be appointed to set up your table (during the time frame).

Banquet organizers want the gym and halls to be full of the senior memories.

The induction ceremony for the PHS chapter of NHS will be 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, in the PHS auditorium. Inductees should arrive at 5:30 p.m. Parents and families are invited to attend. More details will be posted in the NHS Google Classroom. Email kfilina@princetonisd.net with questions.

Rebecca Baker is the Staff Member of the Week for Clark. Southard students in Stephanie Rios' Art 3 class enjoyed their field trip to the Dinosaur Company in Allen. Treated to a custom behind-the-scenes tour, they got to see the various jobs artists do to bring dinosaurs back to life and consider potential careers in art for themselves.

Southard Middle School raised more than $1,000 for cancer research. Student Council and NJHS students along with their leaders were able to attend the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life” at Prosper High School.
