We encourage suggestions on how we can improve our communications, so feel free to email jcollins@princetonisd.net with your ideas.
In addition, like the Princeton Independent School District Facebook page and follow Twitter @princetonisd to stay up-to-date, as well. These accounts are also linked to the district website at www.princetonisd.net so you do not need social media to see the postings. Q. Did you know the Farmersville campus will offer a wine education class?
A. A continuing education (non-credit) wine education class starts May 23. Learn about different types of grapes and much more. Seating is limited. For more information, contact Camale Allen at callen@collin.edu or 972.985.3722.
Q. Have you registered for Maymester and summer classes?

Faculty highlight: Benedict Nguyen-Lee
Farmersville campus professor of biology, Benedict Nguyen-Lee, has been teaching at Collin College since 2018. He served as a part-time professor from Spring 2018 to Summer 2021 at the McKinney campus and became a full-time professor in Fall 2021 at the Farmersville campus.
Nguyen-Lee teaches General Biology I and II for science majors and non-science majors and Anatomy and Physiology I and II for science and non-science majors.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in neuroscience and a Master of Science in Biotechnology from The University of Texas at Dallas. He also holds a graduate certificate in Medical Anatomy and Physiology from the University of Florida College of Medicine.
What would you like parents and students to know about biology classes at the Farmersville Campus?
Nguyen-Lee: I come from a background of teaching adult learners from many walks of life. Because of Collin College’s relationship with Farmersville ISD, I have had the privilege of teaching high school seniors.
Dual credit biology classes have the same course content and rigor as regular biology classes. However, the way I teach dual credit biology is different. Instead of sticking to “textbook biology,” I try to break down biology concepts into their constituent parts, making the course content easier to digest.
Class sizes at Collin College are small, and I often have high school seniors for General Biology I and II. This provides the opportunity for students and professors to get to know each other, especially since we see each other three times a week, consecutively. This relationship is important to me because when I was a university student, I never got to know my professors well because I was just one of hundreds of students.
