School Board Appreciation Month
Princeton City School District is celebrating School Board Recognition Month in January 2023 to build awareness and understanding of the vital function an elected board of education plays in our community.

Princeton School Board Members are extremely dedicated individuals who are committed to the continuing success of Princeton schools, our students and staff.

The five outstanding board members serving Princeton City School District are Mrs. Susan Wyder, President; Mr. Jon Simons, Vice President; Mrs. Mary Cleveland, Mrs. Gina Ruffin Moore, and Mrs. Jodi Kessler. We thank these #DifferenceMakers for their leadership.
This episode of @VikingDiff features fifth-grader Anthony Perez from Stewart Elementary School, who shares wisdom on being nice and working hard.

DECA sending 12 students to State Competition
Congratulations to the Princeton DECA students who competed at the District Competition at Harrison High School today. Twelve students have qualified to participate in the State Competition on March 10 & 11!

Students were given situational events to solve, with 10 minutes to review and plan their 15-minute presentation. Judged on critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, creativity, innovation, and working together, our students proved that they have developed durable skills which they can apply in practical applications.

Our students showcased their 21st Century skills in the career clusters, such as marketing, finance, business management, and fashion design, which they hope to pursue in the future.

Learning about Text Structures

Mrs. McCrory’s reading class at Sharonville Elementary School has been learning about different types of text structures used in informational writing. Students ended the unit by creating posters.

Each poster included examples of the text structures, graphic organizers, and keywords used to identify the various structures. Students worked with partners to examine texts and identify the text structure. They added graphic organizers and keywords to complete the posters.
