Glenbard East Families:

On Friday, March 12th, Superintendent Dr. Larson announced that all Glenbard schools would be returning to our traditional in-person five days per week, 8-period bell schedule on Monday, April 5th. This decision was made as a result of the Revised Public Health Guidance for Schools released on March 9th, by the Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois State Board of Education. The most significant change in the guidance was the decrease in required social distancing within the classroom from 6 feet to 3 feet for students and fully vaccinated staff. This change allows us to increase our classroom capacity.

For more information on these changes and how it impacts Glenbard East, please take a moment to watch this brief video (para ver en español haga clic aquí). Not only will it provide you information on the changes, but it will also provide instruction on how to change your child’s learning model if you so choose. There are still some logistical details we have to work through, including lunch, and we will be providing updated information in that regard in the near future.

Please know that the safety of our students and staff remain our top priority and we will continue with the multitude of mitigations we currently have in place. Lastly, please be sure to review our revised spring semester calendar.

Thank you for your patience and support as we work to return to some sense of normalcy in the coming weeks.
