July 30, 2024

Dear Saint families,

I pray that your family has enjoyed a relaxing and rejuvenating summer! It has been so much fun following our saints on social media with #saintsonsummerbreak2024! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us!

Our summer on the StJPII campus has been productive. In June, we wrapped up another fantastic Summer Enrichment Program, hosted our first successful Camp Invention, and held the fourth annual Symposium for Blue Ribbon Catholic Schools. As summer winds down, we're busy preparing the campus for the students’ return.

I am always abundantly thankful for our phenomenal PTO (Parent Teacher Organization); last year alone they raised close to $30,000 through their volunteer efforts! These funds have allowed StJPII to purchase many teacher wish-list items that will enhance classroom learning, including: flexible seating chairs, bouncy bands, organization items for classroom materials, variety of games and activities for enrichment, stress balls, electric circuits, reading resources (reading decks), novel set, magnetic tiles, math puzzles, legos, mobile white board, TARTS materials, transparent counters, and more!

I've often reflected on the importance of our yearly themes and how they can shape our journey toward becoming saints. This year’s theme is especially inspiring. Its simplicity brings peace, clarity, and a call to action, encouraging all of us—staff, students, and parents—to reflect and grow.

This year’s theme for the 24-25 school year is "Be Greater!" Jesus calls us to grow in holiness, and we can achieve this by striving to be a little better each day, challenging ourselves to be greater in all areas of our lives. If we do, we can change lives! As St. John Paul II said, “It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives.”

Thank you for your constant support, and I look forward to seeing you soon!

In Him,

Rebecca Bogard

Principal

P.S. Make sure to read this entire newsletter! It is full of important details about the first days of school, ….

School Business

Congratulations Mrs. Bogard

Did you know that our staff all participate in continuing education, including Principal Bogard? She recently completed the Executive Education Academy through Rice University Business Executive Education. The program helps improve schools by providing principals strategies in leadership development, executive coaching, change management, appreciative inquiry, and more. Mrs. Bogard enjoyed learning from Rice Professors and connecting with the other professionals she met through the program. Congratulations to Mrs. Bogard for dedicating herself to our "Be Greater" theme and leading by example.

For Every Saint Update

The For Every Saint Capital Campaign is in full swing, and thanks to our generous families and donors, we have already raised almost $2 million of our $4 million goal! As promised, you will begin to see campus improvements this semester, including a higher security fence, new bleachers, and technology upgrades. We are pleased to report that the funds have already been put to use - our roof was repaired, allowing us to withstand Hurricane Beryl without any leaks, and we got new picnic tables for the back playground. Once we reach our goal, additional improvements will be made, including lights on the field, enhancements to the All Saints Chapel, and the renovation of the library into the Aquinas Center for Excellence.

StJPII is the outstanding institution it is today thanks to our Lord's provision through our generous supporters, and we look forward to continuing that legacy! Stay tuned for more exciting updates as the 2024-2025 school year progresses. Special thanks to our For Every Saint Committee for their dedication to this campaign: Katie Hengst and John Zagata (Co-Chairs), Theresa Bramanti, John Fahy, Sarah Moore, Sandra Vreedenburgh, and Trey Wakefield. If you have any questions, please reach out to Development Director Jessi Cook.

CMG Technology Training
(For New Middle School Parents)
This is a reminder that StJPII requires parents of students entering 6th grade (and new 7th and 8th grade parents) take the CMGConnect Technology Training for Parents digital safety video course prior to checking out Chromebooks each school year. This will assist you in protecting your kids from Internet dangers, and better guide them to wise choices in this technologically paced world.

New middle school parents are required to turn in your completion certificate during the first week of school (either at Meet & Greet or the first day of school) or by emailing it to Middle School Assistant Principal Mr. Eric Olson.
