MES News and Reminders

Morning Drop Off

We are asking your assistance with morning car line as we are seeing an increase in cars for morning drop off! We also see that the 7:15-7:30am time is basically empty with almost no cars dropping at that time. This is causing a large backup after 7:30, and in turn, forcing car line to extend past 7:45. Our staff at car line must report to their students at 7:45, so we will no longer be able to open car doors past that time (the beginning bell of school).

We strongly encourage trying to leave home a few minutes earlier to spread out the drop off time, and prevent tardies for students! Thank you!!

MESF Thanks You!

The Morningside Elementary School Foundation sincerely thanks our community for your incredibly generous support during our annual appeal. We reached our fundraising goal and look forward to dynamically supporting the teachers, staff and administration this school year.

If you have any questions about your donation or website listing, or if you have not received your yard sign, please contact Kristen Holtz. Thank you!

STEAM Career Database

Parents we need your help developing a database of STEAM careers that teachers can search when looking for a speaker or activity related to their STEAM lesson. This form can be completed by you, your family, and/or friends that are working in a STEAM career.

We are looking for individuals willing to present in class, present over zoom, do activities in class, or plan a lesson with the teacher. Click this LINK (or use the QR code) and let us know how you want to help.

Yearbook Recognition Ads (5th grade)

5th grade parents, the deadline for recognition ads - Monday, November 7th! - is only a few weeks away. Now is a good time to start choosing a layout, picking out your favorite photos, and coming up with a blurb that will encapsulate it all. (You can start on a draft now and save to edit and purchase at a later time, but no later than above deadline).

Prices for ads:

  • 1/4 page $60
  • 1/2 page $110

Celebrate your child's accomplishments and memories at MES with a special recognition advertisement in the back of our yearbook! Purchase and create your ad directly through Jostens at this LINK.

As always, you can find more details about the yearbook, including a detailed flyer about recognition ads, on the MES Yearbook webpage.
