Message from the Principal

December has arrived and there is a lot of excitement at HPHS.  The next few weeks will fly by and then winter break will be here.  Now is a great time for students to touch base with teachers, review progress in their classes or visit the TLC (in our brand new library space) for a little extra help.

Additionally, this past week we have been celebrating the arts with All City Choir, Band and Orchestra concerts.  Tomorrow, we will culminate the week with our Fine Arts Assembly.  As we begin to think about course registration for the 2023-2024 school year, we hope students will consider taking one of the many courses offered by our outstanding Fine Arts teachers.

Community families and businesses, living around our campus, have asked for our help.  Please follow the pick-up and drop-off procedures as outlined on the HPHS website.  To avoid ticketing from the HP Police, never use apartment/commercial parking lots for this purpose.  We appreciate your cooperation and respect for those living and working around our school building.

Registration 2023-2024

Believe it or not, course registration for the 23-24 school year begins after winter break.  Students will meet with teachers to discuss course placements/recommendations before meeting with counselors to register for classes.  We ask that parents/guardians work with your students to make thoughtful course selections because it is highly unlikely that any changes will be possible.

District News

HPHS and DHS students in the Delta program spent Sunday, November 20 joint action planning to make a positive difference in our schools. They learned about drug prevention strategies and alcohol/marijuana facts through interactive, team building activities. Together, the students brainstormed ways to inspire their peers to make drug-free choices and provide parents with teen-approved suggestions. More info at bit.ly/delta113
