Message from the Principal

Dear Giant Families,

As Dr. Holland shared in her recent letter, recent national events and executive orders have understandably prompted questions and concerns within our community. I want to echo her message and reaffirm my unwavering commitment, and the commitment of HP, to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for every student.

These times can feel uncertain, but our core values remain constant. At HP, we believe in the power of community, the importance of respect, and the strength that comes from embracing our differences. Our entire school is committed to fostering an environment where all learners can thrive through the embodiment of our GIANT values.

My priority, and the priority of our entire staff, is to ensure that every student feels valued, respected, and supported. Whether your concerns relate to immigration status, gender identity, disability, financial support, or any other aspect of who you are, please know that you belong here. We are dedicated to upholding our district policies and procedures, including the Safe Haven Policy (7-151) and its associated procedures (7-151 AP), to guarantee a safe and inclusive space for all.

It's also important to acknowledge that even during these times of uncertainty, I'm witnessing incredible moments of celebration and joy within our HP community. These moments remind me that hope, resilience, and the human spirit are powerful forces. They remind me that many things can exist at once – concern and celebration, uncertainty and joy – and that it's our ability to hold space for all of these emotions that makes us strong.

As always, thank you for sharing your students with us this week and beyond,

Holly
