Message from the Principal

Dear Giant Family,

As we finish the first semester, I’m filled with gratitude for the support and collaboration that have made my first months as principal so meaningful. While I’ve been part of this incredible community for 22 years, serving as principal has been the greatest honor of my career, and I deeply thank you all for your trust and partnership.

During this busy season, I’ve seen so many step up—from Building and Grounds and Security ensuring smooth events, to staff going above and beyond to prepare students for finals. Walking the halls, I’ve witnessed students quizzing each other, practicing scenes, and offering encouragement like, “You’ve got this.” These moments reflect who we are: a community that supports one another and takes pride in our efforts, even as we look toward a well-deserved break.

Happy holidays and Happy New Year to all of you. May this season bring health, joy, and restoration. I’m excited to see what we’ll accomplish together in 2025!

As always, thank you for sharing your students with us this week and beyond,

Holly

Congratulations to Highland Park Football Players JT Killeen and Lucas Gordon. They were named 1st team All-Lake County this past week. Both JT and Lucas rarely came off the field for the Giants this Fall. JT shined in his first year playing football and Lucas is rewriting the record books as a receiver. Congratulations to both student-athletes.

Join us on January 4th for the Grow the Game Basketball Tournament.

The Grow The Game Tournament was created to raise awareness about the importance of equality and giving all girls & women the opportunity to lead, compete, collaborate, and honor one another through the game of basketball. Highland Park High School is proud to be a tournament host this year. Games will be played all day in the Giant Gym on Saturday, January 4th. This event is co-organized and aims to feature teams coached by women, while also utilizing female officials for all contests. The schedule of games is listed below.  Please come out to support our team and the mission.

All HPHS female athletes are invited to attend a special event at Deerfield High School on Presidents Day.
