Happy New Year to everyone. I hope the recent break was an enjoyable one for you and your family.
While GLS experienced some personnel changes at the end of 2019, Grace Lutheran Church will soon as well. Pastor Lauren Wegner has accepted a call to serve as Pastor of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Austin, TX. January 19 will be the last Sunday at Grace for Pastor Lauren and Pastor Dave. They will be leaving shortly afterwards along with Owen and Caroline, to relocate to Texas. We thank both of them for their faithful leadership and service to our church and school, and wish them God’s Blessings. We will miss you.

rd Friday of each month. Interested families can also contact the school for information or to set up a tour.
A new set of after school enrichment classes will be starting the week of January 27.
More information and the registration form can be found
Enrollment is due Friday, January 17.
We will be trying something new for the second semester of Hot Lunches which will start on Friday 1/24.
The decision has been made to move away from going to Concordia for hot lunch for the remainder of this school year. Several factors led to this decision:
The price of hot lunch at Concordia has continued to increase without an increase in quality, quantity, or service.
The cafeteria at Concordia will undergo remodeling this spring, so there would have been adjustments anyways.
The Pizza lunches this past fall to Support the Sports were successful.
The decision to offer a purchased lunch twice a month at Grace is a temporary one. We will gather feedback in the spring before making a decision on next school year.
We will have 2 hot lunches each month, one of which will be sub sandwiches purchased from Firehouse Subs. The second lunch will be pizza. You can find the order form
. The form is due on Friday, January 17 for the January 24 lunch.
We need to let the suppliers know our order in advance so we cannot accept late orders. Any order forms turned in after January 17 will not include the January 24 lunch. Unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate gluten free restrictions.
The 5-8 Grade Choir will sing for the Chicago Wolves game on Saturday, February 1 at 7:00pm. The Wolves will be playing the Manitoba Moose team.

I am uploading images for the yearbook this weekend! All pictures of events, class parties, field trips, etc. should be sent to
.. Please be sure to use the Subject line as a label of what you're sending.
Note: I've been warned that pics sent from phones often default to a lower pixel & subsequently can't be used w/ Josten's software, so sending from your computer is best.
Congratulations to 2
Grader Avery Tan: Avery trains with Team Flipside and finished third in last weekend’s Regional Finals of the Athlete Warrior Games, a ninja warrior league. He will be traveling to Detroit to compete in the National Finals at the end of the month. Good luck, Avery!
