Notes of Interest
Grandparents' Day
This year Grandparents’ Day will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. Please mark your calendar for this special event.
We are fortunate to have an excellent filter to safeguard our technology on campus. We have found that in addition to the virus or junk emails, it tends to pick up others as well. While we do our best to monitor our spam folders, if you send an email and do not get a response within a reasonable amount of time, please call the school office. This can happen even if the recipient has received numerous emails from you in the past.

Mercy Morning
Thank you to all those who donated toiletry items or school supplies for those in need. On Saturday, August 25th, many of our students participated in our parish’s Mercy Morning. The students were able to decorate bags and then pack them with either school supplies, toiletry items, or even pack a lunch for the homeless. It was a very successful day!
Announcing Mustang Stampede!
Our fall fundraiser, the Mustang Stampede, will kick off on Monday, September 24th! With a goal of $50,000, we are counting on all of our students and their families to come together to raise money for St. Mary Magdalen School – teamwork, superhero-style! Last year’s proceeds purchased additional iPads for all grade levels along with cases, new interactive instructional panels in several classrooms, and new printers in all classes. Our goal this year is to continue to increase our inventory in order to provide a set for every homeroom. New interactive panels, STREAM kits (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, and Mathematics), and more are also on our Wish List. A percentage will also be reserved to help grow our endowment fund, helping SMM students for years to come. Watch for more information next week!
In the Classroom
Second Grade
Second Grade became official Night Zookeepers! Students trained all week and wrote applications about why they would be perfect for this job! Night Zookeeper is an interactive writing program that allows students to use their imagination, while practicing their writing skills. The students love getting to use their creativity on the iPads and computers!

Volunteer Opportunity
Fulfill your volunteer hours and support our school. All families are required to volunteer at least 5 hours in the lunchroom or recess. Volunteers should have cleared fingerprints and completed safe environment training.  If you have any questions please contact Sarah McKee or Nancy Thomas. Please click below to volunteer during the month of September. We look forward to seeing you on campus!
