No School for Students on Friday, Nov. 6, 2020
A Message From Mrs. Hytjan

Dear Forest Hills Families,

What a beautiful start to November we have had; the weather has been perfect and students have enjoyed both learning and playing outside this week. Tomorrow is a scheduled Professional Development day for our licensed staff so there is no school, virtual or on-site, for our students.

Please see below information about the parent sessions that are being planned for our families regarding Social Emotional status and learning during this time of hybrid learning. Mrs. Brill, our social worker, and Mrs. Hansen, our school psychologist will facilitate these sessions. We have heard from many of our families that hosting sessions about this topic would be very helpful.

Our world and nation are navigating interesting and unsettling times right now. Know that at school we continue to create an environment of hope, respect, kindness and predictability for our school’s members. We are incredibly grateful for your involvement in and partnership with our school. It takes a strong team to ensure a successful outcome.

With Gratitude,

Connie Hytjan
Forest Hills Elementary Principal
Welcome Class of 2034!
Parents of incoming Kindergarten students are invited to attend a virtual Kindergarten Kick-Off event on Tuesday, November 10th at 6 p.m. At this online event you'll be able to meet the principals and hear important information about the kindergarten experience. Students will be able to join for a special virtual storytime with Ms. Knutowski, one of our Kindergarten teachers. We're excited to welcome you to Forest Hills!

The virtual event link will be available at edenpr.org/Kindergarten a few days before the event.
How Are You Doing???
Parenting during Covid-19 has had its ups and downs! Join us on Wednesday, November 18th for a virtual discussion on the impacts of the Pandemic on our families and daily lives.

Registration is now open for Kindergarten! Visit edenpr.org/Kindergarten to register online, or call our Welcome Center at 952-975-7008.
Winter Gear Needed
Please consider donating new or gently used (clean) hats, mittens or gloves for children in all sizes. Items can be dropped off at the Forest Hills front office or sent to school with your child. Thanks in advance for helping our students stay warm on the playground!
Honoring Our Veterans
On November 11, we honor the wartime service and sacrifice of men and women in the armed forces. Originally proclaimed Armistice Day in 1919 to commemorate the end of World War I, it was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to include American veterans of all wars. To acknowledge, honor, and celebrate our service men and women, past and present, each classroom is planning to engage in learning activities about this day. Please ask your child about their learning on Veteran’s Day.

Due to COVID-19, a new Lost & Found Procedure begins now!
Week 1 - On the first Monday of every month, a picture will be posted to Forest Hills' Instagram and Facebook page. If you see an item that belongs to you, contact your student's teacher to collect your missing items.
Week 2 - all items not claimed will be laundered and held in the office for an additional week.
Week 3 - the Health Room will be given the chance to view items and keep what is needed for students
Week 4 - All unclaimed items will be donated to PROP.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
