Mustang Messenger l October 25, 2018
Message from the Principal

I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to all who helped make our Mustang Stampede a HUGE success. Together, we raised over $37,000 for our school! This money allows us to make technology purchases now, that were scheduled for future years, enhancing the instruction and learning in the classroom. A special thank you to Cynthia Dades, Filomena Sweet, Darryl Dziedzic, and Joe Walter for all of their hard work to make this fundraising event both profitable and truly enjoyable for all involved. Thank you to all of our sponsors and to the many volunteers who helped throughout the event. We couldn’t have done it without the help and support of everyone!

What a wonderful CommunityFest weekend!! Thank you so much for coming out and giving of your time to this awesome annual event. It was so nice spending time with the children and parents. From participating together in the parade, to working the games, to enjoying the performances of our students and appreciating time visiting with so many of you, it truly was a wonderful weekend. Thank you for your gift of time and for coming out and being a part of such a community building event!

Faith on Campus
Saint of the Month: St. Therese of Lisieux
The seventh graders have learned much on the life and writings of St. Therese. In her diary, The Story of a Soul, Therese discovers that true joy is found in the intention that precedes our thoughts and actions. The students concluded that love of God and service to others connects well with our Parish's message series: Seek, Accompany, and Serve.
Mark your calendar for the Auction!
If you have not already marked your calendar for our Annual St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School Auction and Gala, please do! This year’s event will take place on April 6, 2019 in the Parish Life Center. It is sure to be a fun evening of fellowship centered around the theme Havana Nights! Believe it or not, planning has already begun but it is not too late to join in the preparation. If you’re interested in joining the committee, donating an item for the auction or just want to ask a question, please email Cynthia Dades at for more information.

In the Classroom
Third Grade
Students in 3L worked very hard to write and illustrate descriptive paragraphs about their favorite region in the United States. They had to name a state in the region and describe the landforms, climate and vegetation. They had a great time learning about where in the country some have been to or would like to visit one day!

Home and School Meetings
Parents, please plan on joining us for two important and informative parent meetings, Thursday, November 29th, in our school cafeteria. Our first meeting will be a short 30 minute meeting, starting at 6:00 PM, with information from our Sub-Committee members. Immediately following will be our General Parent Meeting starting at 6:30 PM, ending at 7:30 PM. All parents are welcome at both meetings. A light dinner, babysitting and a free dress pass will be provided for parents who attend. More details coming soon.
Lunch and Recess Volunteer Opportunity
Parents, please take advantage of the beautiful fall weather we’re blessed with in Florida and join us during lunch and recess. We truly appreciate any time you can give us, on any given day. The safety of our students is always our top priority and having enough parent volunteers during recess is necessary. Please click on the link below to volunteer.

All families are required to volunteer at least 5 hours in the lunchroom or recess. Volunteers should have cleared fingerprints and completed safe environment training. If you have any questions, please contact Nancy Thomas
