Dear Families,
Thank you for all the support you have provided us as we launched a school year that is completely different from years’ past. We have concluded six weeks of school and the students’ and staff members’ testimonials are incredibly positive. While some of the ‘new conditions for learning’ have challenged us, it has amplified our mindsets for leading, teaching and learning: flexibility, resilience, optimism, persistence, and empathy. We sincerely appreciate your partnership and support with reminding your child about the importance of wearing a mask, encouraging him/her to social distance, assisting him/her with live streaming and asynchronous learning experiences, and attending school, whether in-person or virtual, each day.
Conferences begin tonight, and I know our teachers are excited to meet with you. Next week is our Fall Break and I hope this time allows you to rest, spend some family time and have some fun.

Just a reminder that Parent/Teacher conferences are being held on Thurs., Oct. 8 from 4-8 pm, Fri., Oct. 9 from 8 am -4 pm and Tues., from 4-8 pm. There will be no school for students on Friday, Oct.9th. In addition, there will be no in-person conferences held this year due to COVID. If you have not yet scheduled your conference, please contact your student's teacher directly to arrange a time to meet. |

Important Information For Grade 2 - 6 Families
We are now moving into the cold and flu season so with the added component of COVID 19, it could mean there are times when your child’s teacher may be absent from school. In the event your child’s teacher is absent, the following procedures will be followed:
- If your child is at school for in-person learning on a day their teacher is absent, a guest teacher will provide face to face instruction to students based on the lesson plans provided by your child’s teacher.
- If your child is learning at home on a day their teacher is absent, the teacher will inform families via email and provide asynchronous learning experiences for students in Schoology. *Asynchronous means students work at their own pace to complete the lesson objectives and assignments provided by their classroom teacher posted in their Schoology course. Students will not attend live streaming or virtual learning experiences on this day.

Minnesotans have the chance to nominate an educator who they feel motivates and inspires students for Minnesota Teacher of the Year. The nomination period is open through November 15.
