Message from the Principal

Thank you to all of our families who have already signed up for a shift at CommunityFest! Your gift of time helps our parish provide this wonderful weekend not only to our parishioners but to the greater church community as well. If you have not yet signed up, please click here to see where help is still needed. As a reminder, all families are asked to commit a shift in the Kids’ Games area. The children love spending time in this area and it serves as a wonderful opportunity to put our faith into action!

Faith on Campus
Fifth Grade
Students in 5th grade are studying the interdependence of God’s creatures on this earth. The activity, “Eat or be Eaten” on Mystery Science was a great way to learn about producers, consumers and decomposers and the role they play in an ecosystem. The students constructed food chains that show how animals get the energy they need to live and grow.
Mustang Stampede Kicks Off On Monday!
Our fall fundraiser, the Mustang Stampede, kicks off on Monday, September 24th! All students will attend an assembly where they will be given a presentation on what it’s all about and how they can help! Our Superhero theme should provide some added excitement to the event. Here’s what you need to know:

  • On Monday 9/24, all students are invited to wear a Superhero t-shirt with their PE shorts to school.
  • Students will attend an assembly to provide them with all the information they need.
  • Packets will be sent home on Monday afternoon giving parents more information.
  • The school website will also contain information, copies of forms, incentives and a PayPal link.
  • Be prepared for students to come home and ask you to help them send out 10 emails with requests for donations. If 10 emails are sent, they will receive a small chain with a token. They can then earn more tokens to include on that chain as they bring in more donations.
  • The fundraiser will run through October 12th with our Mustang Stampede event!

Our goal is $50,000, so we can all be Superheroes to help raise funds to enhance our technology program throughout the school! On our wish list this year are more interactive, Smart panels to replace aging projectors, additional iPads so classrooms can have a dedicated set, and kits to enhance our STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art and Math) program.
The Auction Will Be Here Before We Know It!
It is NOT too early to start planning for our school auction! St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School's Annual Auction & Gala will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019 and this year’s theme is Havana Nights. We hope you have all marked your calendars for a fun night of fellowship with fellow parents and parishioners. Do you:

  • Love planning a party?
  • Have fun decorating?
  • Like to network?
  • Just want to get involved?

Join us Thursday morning, September 27th after drop-off from 8:00 to 9:00 am for an informational meeting in the school library on how you can be a part of this incredibly fun and fruitful event benefiting all students in our school. Don't forget to check in at the school office before heading to the library. If you can’t make it to the meeting, please know we still need you! Email for more information.
In the Classroom
Eighth Grade Literature
The 8th grade students have been reading "The Giver" by Lois Lowry in Literature class! To culminate the book, they worked on projects to compare and contrast Jonas's world to another country and decided which society they would rather live in. The students worked hard on their projects and enjoyed reading the book.
