Dear School of St. Mary Families,

Please join us for National Catholic Schools Week, our annual celebration of what makes education at the School of St. Mary so outstanding. Starting with Sunday Mass on January 27 th , we have a whole week of activities planned to show what our students are accomplishing, and to celebrate the community we have built to educate tomorrow's citizens and church leaders.

The theme of our celebration is Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed. The theme encompasses the core products and values that can be found in Catholic schools across the country. Not only are we teaching students to become future servant leaders, faith-filled disciples and enriched citizens in our communities, educators are growing with them. In Catholic schools, we are all learners, servants and leaders. These shared qualities are what make Catholic schools work. They are what make Catholic schools succeed.

This year's theme also focuses on key elements of Catholic education: faith formation, academic excellence, leadership development, and dedication to service. These elements are what set Catholic schools apart from other educational options. They are why families make sacrifices to provide their children with a Catholic education. I hope you will visit the School of St. Mary during National Catholic Schools Week to enjoy our students' presentations, and many activities that showcase their learning, faith development, and community service. Please bring your friends and neighbors, particularly those who may be considering Catholic education for their children.

We will kick off Catholic Schools' Week with a School Open House at both of our campuses from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm on Sunday, January 27 th .  Our School's Open House provides an opportunity for prospective students and their parents to visit and tour our schools, meet with administration and staff, and visit with our Student Council members who will be giving tours.  In addition to our Open House, we will have our PGC Choir sing at the 10:00 am Mass at the Church of St. Mary, while our UGC Choir will help celebrate the 12:00 pm Mass at St. Mary as well.

I am grateful every day for our teachers, staff, School Advisory Council and Parent Association members, parents and volunteers who make our school a success. National Catholic Schools Week is a good time for all of us to thank them for their dedication and service.
