Dear All Saints Families:
Two important events happening this week that need to be on our families' schedules are the individual photos on Tuesday, September 11th and the National Junior Honor Society Induction Mass on Thursday, September 13th. For picture day, please make sure your child is in his/her liturgy attire. Prior to the induction mass there will be a parent meeting on Tuesday, immediately after school in the Media Center. All are welcome for the mass on Thursday.
I wish to apologize to our families for the confusion and delay in the start of extracurricular activities for our students. This year the Diocese required additional insurance and liability from our third party vendors. This was not discovered until after school started and renewals of certificate of liabilities began. Since this affects all schools in the Diocese, it has taken time for the vendors to get the extra insurance and then the Diocese to process all of the certificates. We have been in constant contact with our vendors and they assure me that all full sessions will be provided to our students, even if it must continue in the new year. Hence, chess, karate, tennis, and Bricks for Kids activities will NOT be held this week. The Diocese is assuring us that this will be settled this week and we hope all will begin next week.
I wish to reach out to all of our families about safety in car line. Lately, we have seen far too many children unseated and unbelted as cars enter the line in the morning or not buckling up quickly when they enter the car at pick up. We are so fearful an accident with the slightest hit from the rear, could result in serious injury to a child not properly in his/her seat. Further, we have seen countless parents on cell phones in the mornings and afternoons. We are all over-scheduled and busy, but focus and vigilance is so important once a car enters the parking area. Finally, if you have business in the school in the morning, please drop your child off in the regular car line and then park. In recent mornings when organizational meetings have been scheduled, parents and children are walking through the car line. There was a near accident last week with a child running from his mother and almost being hit by a car. Little ones cannot be seen running between cars and then onto the roadway. Please respect this protocol for the safety of your child.
Please check out the paragraph below, as we begin to share the great happenings in our grade levels.
Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Jill Broz
