Good Morning Fullerton Families!

We've had a busy week at Fullerton! Our school went through an accreditation visit from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges this week. This is a visit all high schools have to prepare for every six years. It helps us as a school community reflect on our practices and our goals. The visiting committee found that our school has great programs, and we have articulate, amazing students who are taking advantage of those programs. The strengths and areas of growth that our staff identified are on point and we should be good to go for another six years! I would like to thank our parents that participated in interviews and showed their support for the school. Thank you to the students who were interviewed in groups and were a great representation of our student body. We had amazing Teacher Focus Chairs who led our staff in courageous conversations and helped us move forward. Last but not least, a great big thank you to Mrs. Nicole Ruiz who has been leading this effort for over two years. Her organization and leadership are truly appreciated! We are thankful overall for our school community.

I hope everyone is enjoying a sunny three-day weekend in honor of our Veterans!

National Signing Day #1

We Celebrated National Signing Day, with four of our athletes committing to play their sport at prestigious universities! Congratulations to all! We are so proud!

Two of our FUHS Divers signed letters of intent to continue their education and diving careers at the next level. Abigail Eskstrom is going to Penn State University and Simone Beinlich is going to the University of Iowa.  Two of our volleyball players are also continuing on to college to continue their education and playing careers. Havanna Pennington will be attending Life Pacific University and Cassidy Mullens will be going to North Park University Chicago. Best of luck to all of the girls, congratulations to their families, and thank you for representing the TRIBE!

Cross Country Season not done yet!

The boys and girls varsity teams have been working hard since the final league meet to prepare for CIF Prelims. Both teams will be racing at Mt. San Antonio College this Saturday in hopes to move on to the next round. Go Tribe!

Girls Tennis still going!

Girls Tennis celebrated their season with a banquet on Sunday. Many awards were given out to the varsity team and the JV team. The varsity singles MVP Award went to Lillian Kelly. The varsity doubles MVP went to Christina Sfatcu and Rebecca Balarie. The Coach's Award went to Nicole White. The JV singles had a co-MVP, Francine Bondoc and Kate Luengo. The JV doubles MVP went to Olivia Stephensen and Audrey Shu. And the Most Improved Award went to Daniela Perez.  Although the season is over for the team, we still have the CIF Individual tournament coming up on November 18th at the Claremont Club. Participating is the doubles team of Abigail Kelly and Lillian Kelly. Good luck girls!

Winter Season

Boys Basketball

The boys basketball program hosted their final scrimmage this past Wednesday against Los Alamitos before heading their pre-season schedule. They open up Monday 11/14 against Diamond Bar in the Rumble for Rosecrans Ave. tournament. The game is at 7:30 pm at FUHS. This is one of the premier pre-season tournaments in Orange County that starts on Monday 11/14 and concludes on 11/19.

Our program is also hosting our annual free throw-a-thon fundraiser on Saturday 11/12. 20% of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

Girls Basketball

The girls program is wrapping up with the second week of official winter season practice. They had their last fall league game to prepare for the season last Saturday at Oxford Academy. We will open our season this upcoming Monday at Rancho Alamitos at 3pm for JV and 4:30pm for Varsity. We will also have our first home game of the season this upcoming Thursday with JV at 3pm and Varsity playing at 4:30.

Wrestling

Wrestling continued practicing throughout the week to prepare for their season openers. JV travels to Cerritos HS on Tuesday at 3:30 PM for a dual tournament. On Saturday - Varsity Boys travel to S. Torrance HS for their individual tournament, and JV & Varsity Girls travel to Capo Valley HS for an individual tournament as well. All the boys and girls completed their BMI assessment on Saturday to determine their weight classes for the season and are ready to compete!

Boys and Girls Soccer

Because of the rain and short school days in addition to not wanting to tear up the Utility field Girls' and Boys' Soccer had study halls. A lot of players are still participating in club competitions so they are staying in shape and getting ready for the start of our season and defending the Freeway League Championship. We are anxious for the sun to return and for hard training to really began. We are looking forward to next week
