Football

Last week was a great bounce-back week for the tribe after a loss against Canyon. We beat Santa Fe High school 20-0. It was a rainy night and taking care of the football was important. The offensive line took care of business in the trenches. Deshawn Cobbs had 27 carries 203 yards rushing 2 TD. Ryan Reger connected with Henry Pillon on a deep post for the final score. The defense pitched their first shutout of the year having some key red zone stops.

This Friday is also a special night. It’s Military Appreciation Night. We would like to show our appreciation by allowing all military personnel in for free. This country and school owe our deepest and most sincere appreciation to all who have helped make this country the safest and greatest country in the world. Thank you for your service. See you Friday Night!

Cheer & Song

Friday 9/2 Cheer and Song hosted our youth group. The youth performers participated in cheers during 1st and 2nd quarters as well as a halftime routine! This last Friday, we were there again supporting our Football team, rain or shine!

Cross Country

The cross country team was up bright and early on Saturday, September 3rd for the Fastback Shootout Invitational at Mt. SAC. The original course of 1.8 miles was run by the lower classes, but as the heat ramped up, the distance was lowered to 1.4 miles for juniors and seniors. The freshman girls placed 5th place overall as a team with several acquiring medals. The boys also had a competitive showing with the freshman boys placing 7th place overall. The sophomore boys placed 3rd overall with several runners receiving medals. Lastly, the senior boys place 4th overall. All athletes did an incredible job racing and battling the less than perfect conditions. The team has continued to train and prepare for our first league meet this upcoming Monday starting at 2:00 pm at Troy High School.

Girls Golf

The team took this week to fine tune their chipping skills before their first league week game.  They will be playing Sonora on Tuesday and Sunny hills high school on Thursday next week.

Girls Tennis

The girls played a hard-fought match against La Quinta HS this week but fell short, losing 6-12. Although the team was short-handed, we fought hard, losing 6 very close matches, which could have tipped the score in our favor. Nonetheless, it was a good match. Proud of you girls! Go, Tribe!

Girls Volleyball

The ladies had a good week going 1-1. Lost to a very good El Dorado team, and dominated Mayfair a couple of days afterward. The ladies were off to a Friday/Saturday tournament this weekend just before starting league play on Monday at Sunny Hills. The ladies are primed and ready for league play. JV went 2-0, and Frosh went 1-1.
