FULLERTON UNION HIGH SCHOOL'S PRODUCTION OF "A MONSTER CALLS" WINS TOP HONORS AT CALIFORNIA EDUCATIONAL THEATRE ASSOCIATION'S HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE FESTIVAL


FULLERTON, CA — December 18th, 2023


Fullerton Union High School's theatre program is thrilled to announce the outstanding success of its production of "A Monster Calls" at the 2023 California Educational Theatre Association's (CETA) High School Theatre Festival. The production has earned the prestigious top honors, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication of the FUHS Theatre and B.E.A.S.T. programs.


The CETA High School Theatre Festival is a highly competitive event that brings together the best high school theatre programs from across the state. Fullerton Union High School's production of "A Monster Calls" stood out among the submissions, capturing the hearts of the audience and judges alike....


Fullerton will not only host this year's festival at FUHS in the Historic Fullerton Auditorium but will open the festival with their production of “A Monster Calls” on Friday, January 12th, 2024 at 7:00pm.

Boys Basketball

Boys basketball made it to the semi-finals in the Euclid Street Challenge after going 2-0 in the first two rounds. They beat La Quinta on Monday and Godinez on Wednesday. Josiah Jessup & Jad Mustafa are averaging a double double for the Tribe in both games this week. They play Newport Harbor, the #11 ranked team in Orange County on Friday 12/1 at 6:30pm at Loara High School. 


JV is playing in the Santa Ana tournament and is currently 1-2 this week. The freshman team is playing in the La Habra tournament and is 1-1 and our F/S team is playing at Segerstrom and is 0-3 this week. 


All players, families, and fans are welcome to join our program next Thursday night 12/7 after the home game against Western for our program night out at The Bowery. Come and hang out for some good pizza and support one of our sponsors. 


Girls Basketball

Girls Varsity went 2-0 this week against La Puente (35-4) and Workman (67-18).


 JV girls earned their first tournament trophy as they went 4-0 in the Westminster Wild West Tournament! 


All 3 teams will play at home on Saturday. We then gear up to play against PV and Troy next week. Please come out and support your LADY TRIBE! 

Boys Soccer

This Week started on Saturday for boys soccer playing in the Sonora JV tournament. The Frosh/Soph team held their playing against older JV teams. Our JV team blew up Troy 3-0 in its first game. It ended up winning second place overall losing to Downey 4-1. 


Next, the teams played their first league game against Troy. JV won 2-0. Luke Buehler and Josh Harris scored goals. Varsity followed with a 3-1 win. Goals were scored by Abraham Benavides, Abdul Umar, and Nathan Buehler with assists by Brandon Sandoval and Aidan Bengard. 

Now both teams are preparing for Friday's home game vs Sunny Hills. 


Girls Water Polo

Fullerton Girls Waterpolo went into the weekend with the Ayala Tournament. Playing strong teams Our girls took fourth place! With a close game against Chino Hills, we came out victorious, winning 8-7. Then we headed out to Rancho Cucamonga keeping the game 1-1 all the way to the fourth quarter where attrition got the better of us leading to a tough loss of 1-5. From there we had our first league match against Troy, keeping the game close, we fell by 3 points. Loosing 4 to 7. JV played La Habra Tuesday with a loss but picked themselves up for a victory against Buena Park 11-3! This weekend we head to Upland High School for the Thrills in the Hills tournament. 

Cheer and Song

It has been a hectic week for our cheer, song, and STUNT programs! In addition to practicing every week our programs have cheered at basketball games, performed at halftime, and showcased our programs for the Junior High Visit on Thursday 12/14. We are so proud of these teams for their hard work and spirit! FUHS Cheer, Song, and STUNT is also VERY excited to announce that FUHS is hosting our first STUNT tournament on Feb 24th! This is an exciting opportunity for FUHS STUNT to showcase the new sport and other programs around the area. We are very excited to play these schools and make connections with other programs!
