We Are The Heart of Fullerton! ❤️
Good Evening Fullerton Families!
We had an exciting week! Our school district experienced an internet shutdown that lasted three days! Our school district IT department was working around the clock to get this fixed! We want to thank them for getting us back online! There are still some glitches here and there and some programs are not quite running yet, but we were able to make it to Friday! I am thankful for the resiliency of our teachers who had to pivot on a moment's notice! Textbooks, paper, and pencils were still handy and instruction continued! They are the experts and we are grateful for them. I also want to give kudos to our students! They survived a few days without internet in their classrooms and they were good sports!
One of the shifts we had to make due to the lack of internet this week, was the postponing of progress report grades by our teachers. Originally they were due today! However, Aeries is one of the programs, not completely up yet. The new deadline for teachers is now Friday, December 1st, which means updated grades will not be available to parents until Tuesday, December 5th. In the meantime, please check in with your student. As soon as we get back from Thanksgiving Break, please check your Aeries Portal. Thank you for understanding!
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving Break with friends and family!
See you soon!
Laura Rubio

Boys Basketball
On Friday 11/3 the basketball program had their annual Tribe Madness meet the team night. Thanks to all the parents and sponsors who made this night possible for our players. The Varsity, JV, and Freshman teams kick off the season in tournaments next week. Varsity is co-hosting Rumble for Rosecrans Ave. The tournament opens in the first round with Orange Lutheran on Monday 11/13 at 8pm at FUHS.

Boys Basketball is co-hosting one the premier varsity basketball tournaments in the area this week. Rumble For Rosecrans Ave. has brought in some of the top teams in Southern California. Fullerton started the week going 1-2, falling to Orange Lutheran and Ayala, but getting a victory against El Toro on Tuesday. They will finish the week against Quartz Hill & Wilson Hacienda Heights.
JV is playing the California High tournament and is 1-1 thus far beating El Rancho and losing to La Serna. The Freshman team is playing at Valencia High school and is also 1-1 beating Whittier Christian and losing a close one to Esperanza.
Good luck to our teams the rest of the week.

Girls Basketball
Our Girls Program had their first team bonding event at Chapman University where they got to meet the women’s basketball team, participate in the pre-game pep talk, watch their game, and enjoy dinner at their campus dining hall. Thank you to the booster club for sponsoring this event!
The Varsity team started their week going 2-1. It was a close game against Santa Ana Valley, where they fell short by 3 points. The girls finished the week with sweeping wins against Mountain View (65-15) and Rancho Alamitos (64-23). Fullerton also had their first program sweep of the year with JV (43-12) and Freshman (20-13) winning their first games of the season. Let’s go TRIBE!
Coming up… Girls Basketball will be hosting its annual Vernie Ford Classic Basketball Tournament at Fullerton High School. There is also a Rubio’s fundraiser on Dec. 2nd. Please come and show your support!

Girls Soccer
Girls soccer started their 23’-24’ preseason this week. The Tribe headed to North Long Beach to face off against Jordan High School. Junior Varsity started off strong with an 11-0 win. JV standouts were Gabriella Garcia with the “hat trick”, Lauren Barrett, Kamryn Venezuela, Olivia Yturriaga, Mya Monroe, and Gker Athena Rodriquez.
Varsity had their hands full with the weather, and an aggressive, passionate Jordan HS Varsity team. An early goal by Janelle Flores started Fullerton with the lead. Shortly after Jordan answered back with a deep shot from outside. With most of the match in Jordan’s defensive side, Fullerton kept attacking. A second half goal generated with a quality through ball by Ava Vazquez, Marley Keller gets in and finishes! Final score 2-1 Fullerton Union wins.
Next up.. back on the road, traveling to Hacienda Heights for Wilson High School on Monday November 20th. GoTribe.

Boys Soccer
Boy's Soccer is continuing train for conditioning and tactics. We are getting prepared for our first games starting December 2 for freshman and JV. Our season will start on December 4 with three games that week. All our players are anxious and ready to play. We are having our pictures taken over Thanksgiving break to eliminate any distractions getting ready for the season. We also have a fundraiser for sees candy. We want everybody to participate in.
| |
We want to send our congratulations out to two former players Misael Gonzalez who is the back-to-back MVP at Fullerton College. Also, Garrett Eckelman, who was named all-conference defender. Fullerton College won their conference, and are ranked number two in the United States, and two of our former players contributed to their success.
Wrestling
Our wrestling team had a scrimmage at Bishop Amat High School this past weekend. It was a great way to start the season and they were able to showcase their talent and teamwork. Led by captains Julian Rodela and Chloe Ortiz, our wrestlers secured a series of impressive performances. Freshmen and sophomores stepped up, demonstrating their skill and determination. The entire team worked seamlessly, supporting each other and creating a positive environment. This scrimmage is a testament to our team's potential and shows the direction all the hard work is taking us. We are excited to see what the future holds for this remarkable group of athletes.
